Yep, doing the same thing I did yesterday. Finishing up my book in my courtyard with a phenomenal beer. Orval this time.
"Whipping up" a pot of Dad's famous chicken chili. (Because I'm a legend in my own mind - that's about al I got. ....)
I have some of this inbound for delivery next week on trade with @micada . I have that 1970's Heinz ketchup ad with song from Carly Simon in my head right now... "Anticipation is making me wait"
Valley of the Hearts Delight from Almanac. Thanks @Snrubnivek
W00T! These damn things must be self replicating! I've bought two four packs in the past few years, yet keep finding them in my cellar or stashed at my son's place. Starting to suspect my family is jerking my chain...
Beer #7. Holy shit did the Eagles just score???
Sorry, I was out until now and did not see this.
I have to put my answer in proper context.
Since this COVID thing started, I have been drinking a LOT of ginger and honey tea. I buy ginger, slice it up and put it in a jar with honey. Why, it’s good for colds and the hot water supposedly kills the COVID. I love that spicy kick. Plus I was eating spicy Korean food when drinking the beer, kimchi and some spicy roots, so I can handle spicy stuff, that is, the ginger was not overpowering to me.
Having said that, my favorite Stouts nowadays are the Xocoveza, because of the chili peppers, and this one because of the ginger.
I hope that helps! Cheers!
Utah get me two!
Bare Bottle Juicinomics. Kind of one-note pineapple, not bad.
She's embellished it a little since the picture was taken.
Howdy BA's. Bought them hoping it was some sort of fresh IPA, doesn't seem to be. But, I think this IPA goes right in line with the West Coast take on a NEIPA. Definitely juicy tasting, but also clear and 70 IBUs. Damn fine IPA.
Drinking some Benediktiner Festbier
2020 continues to be a MFer:
Phase Three In Threes TDH TIPA (Nelson Sauvin, Citra, Galaxy). At 2.5 months old, this one is still drinking mighty fine. This came out right around the time I noticed them really dial in their hoppy stuff and they haven’t looked back since. Sadly it’s lost it’s bitter bite, but it hasn’t lost it’s hop flavor. Touch sweeter than usual due to the lack of hop bitterness, but still enjoyable. A wonderful brew.
My workout today was 3 hours of moving leaves. The trees are not even close to bare, but I’m hoping only one more round is needed this year.
Thanks to @CanConPhilly for the beer. This lager is excellent. Nice level of earthy, floral and grassy hoppy bitterness. I dig it.
Spinning some Esperanza Spalding on her birthday I'm a little obsessed with her, only a small sampling of what I have ha.
Ayinger Brauweisse in the glass.
Intergalactic Warrior Toppling Goliath Brewing Co.
Beer #8. The last Oktoberfest in the fridge. Might pick up a few more singles if I see them.
Haha...figured someone on here would recognize it. But I thought I'd get a comment on the hop pumpkin first.
Kids started re-watching the series recently, and that particular episode came on yesterday.
I'll relay your compliments to Mrs. snaotheus.
And now for something completely different:
Omnipollo Hilma "Vanilla Burger Bun Crispy Fries IIPA"
Mystery beer courtesy of @Justonemore91. I already know this is going to be good. Let's share some thoughts. The pour produces a milky-orange haze with a solid finger of head, as well as copious lacing throughout the enjoyment. Nose is Nelson up front, but what do I know? I get gooseberry, hints of white wine, citrus peel, hints of lime, and booze. Yeah, it's a bit boozy in the nose. Taste follows with less Nelson influence, possibly some Enigma? I have no f*cking idea advocates. I don't think it's dank enough, to be honest. There's also a drying element on the finish that begs you to come back for more. Moderately creamy, palate smacking, and delightful. I would gladly drink this again. It's definitely a DIPA in about the 8.4% range.
Time for the reveal... Cloudbursting #7 feat. Nelson hops. What??? Lucky me. It's 8%. Peace...
If I'm gonna watch my team lose, again, there may as well be a consolation prize.
Another excellent New Trail
Sir I thoroughly enjoyed that beer. Might be Grimms best dipa this year. No one knows Nelson like you, that Gooseberry goodness cheers
Haha, I actually remember feeling kinda the same way. I reviewed this one earlier this year and actually somehow +rDev'd it despite being very much skeptical going in. It's definitely more of a one-and-done than something I'd ever want more than one of, but I was surprised by how good it was. 4Q is frustrating though because I've had some absolute drain pours (and some explosive beers) from them, but then they'll succeed with something like this or a goddamn green IPA (This House Is Haunted is awesome, for the record) and I'm just left throwing my hands up in bewildered confusion.
Right now I'm eating lunch (homemade steak fajitas, see below) and drinking a DDH IPA from a New Jersey micro I'd never heard of before yesterday. Simcoe and Idaho 7. Good shit, I really dig it!
I really enjoyed that one. Perhaps their best ipa yet.
Weldwerks Medianoche Brewers Select. This is one thick oily bourbon barrel beast of a beer. It reminds me of Bourbon County back in it's infancy. The perfect warmer after a cold and damp morning hike in the clouds.
Needing a big game from Rogers & Jones, Go Packers! Oskar Blues Can-O-Bliss Double IPA
Thanks for the beer @SouthernSips! Cheers, Advocates!
@Roguer Enjoying this on a brisk, partly cloudy, 63 degree Fall afternoon.
My daughter is driving the music selection...
