A cross post from the Saison Saturday thread.
Drinking this saison while I prep the potato soup that my wife requested for Halloween night.
The saison features pale and wheat malt, and is hopped with mandarina bavaria and hallertau blanc hops. Canned in april, so it has some age on it, but still tastes great.
I don't join too often these days but I've got a couple of beers lined up so let's make a night of it!
Other Half DDH Citra Everything, 8.5% imperial IPA.
The last of a New York beer haul I got my hands on a couple of weeks ago. It does not disappoint! Pretty close to a perfect beer for me. Cheers everyone
Wow that's boozy
Fuck I drove past the venue they were supposed to perform at around here yesterday. Fucking 2020
I dropped $100 at the beer store this week, with $22.65 for this 750 and a couple Mexican Cake bombers doing half the damage. Was I supposed to savor this one? I polished it off in an hour. Not sorry.
Had my first KBS not too long ago and was blown away. Hope to see some of these over here at some point.
Send me some jerky?
Pre Jack of the lantern.
Georgia's all-time best band says hello:
Good to see you back at the “bar” - Cheers!
Drinking a Treehouse Gggreennn! Part of a large box of NE gems courtesy of @SierraNevallagash.
Gave it a 4.71, making it my 3rd favorite treehouse beer so far. (Only beaten by Haze & Very Gggreennn!) highly recommended.
Cleaned up a bunch of leaves today. Still a bunch left in the trees. Think I'll have a beer and watch them fall. Lagunitas Born Yesterday. Cheers!
Beer #5. Another really good Levante sour.
Phase Three to kick things off, now a New Trail at mom's
The GF said she brought home a blonde to share
Well, Mae West blonde ale did win a medal at VA Beer Cup 2 years ago. Have heard of the brewery about 45 minutes south of us (2.5 hours in pre-COVID daily traffic), Six Bears and a Goat, and what I’ve heard makes me think this will be decent enough. Let’s see...
Easy drinking, lightly fruity (orchard), little on the sweet side; nicely carbonated. Simple enough, but could be a little more dry for my tastes.
Industrial Arts with another winner in its Landscape series. Malt and corn dominate upfront with a bitter citric finish. Been watching the older one play soccer all morning, time for Halloween.
How are you liking it? That’s my favorite New Trail of 2020.
Jackie O's Pub & Brewery
Duvel for Samhain...
Put on a mask so the spirits don't recognize you when they cross into our world...
Productive day...beer and grocery store runs complete...the KBS variants hit yesterday and my “enabler” at my honey hole set aside a 4pk of each, plus the Guilty Pleasures 4pk he was already holding for me...like I need more beer !! A warm breezy 80° on the patio, drinking a Jai Alai:
Canned 9/28...about as fresh as I can find it anymore...I hope to get to some beers more in tune with today’s theme, later - Cheers!
I just ran five miles in this outfit! This beer was refreshing when I drank it last night, but it is very thirst-quenching right now!
4 Most NE IPAs all over the map. Happy Halloween 2020. Vote!
Premiere IPA - Double Dry-Hopped | Interboro | 6% | Brooklyn

20th review. My first from this "local" Brooklyn brewer.
a) Hazed expected body, with reviving head and lacing suds.
s) Myriad hops. Maze of flavors.
t) Atop a pilsner, lighter, more sessionable base... The myriad hops maze into a lovely arch of woody, cedary, powdery finale.
f) Likewise chalky, powdering, yet some how juicy. Lovely texture
o) Clearly a brewer I want to visit and stalk.
Barbarian Haze | 3 Floyds | 6.5% | Indiana

3 Floyds arrived in NJ. 23rd review.
a) Hazed golden bod with lasting, lacing head.
s) Non-descript Citrus hop, with dank notes, citrus fruit salad, and malt.
t) Follows smell, but more ample, sharp and tangy finish. Big for 6.5%.
f) Also big for 6.5, lots of mouth tickle, perhaps a little too much citrus but that's to style.
o) Juicy and will test nicely in a blind test batch.
Whaler | Carton | 6.5% | Atlantic Highlands NJ (My home town)
3.81/5 rDev -4.8%

5th Review. This NE IPA falls short for me. Perhaps too simple, like a Boston Whaler?
a) Look is great, another lace, slash, completely cover the glass all the way down, over a lasting film and haze body.
s) Melon, white fruit flesh. Unripe Mango.
t) Warms a bit, get better as it warms but too fruity for me. An OJ (dont drink it), chalky, cardboard grain back.
f) sharp, astringent, balancing the fruit.
o) Not refreshing enough for me, and neither is OJ.
Lost Palate | Goose Island | 6.9% | Chicago
3.65/5 rDev 0%
look: 4.25 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 4 | overall: 3.75
Lovely back story, and I'm sure Jonny loves this beer because it has ample cinnamon and mango.
a) great looking hazed IPA.
s) odd aroma from the cinnamon.
t) Odd, strange flavor continues along with some mango, fleshy fruit - lost in space?
f) nice feel but finishes on that odd, medicinal, spice cabinet note.
Loving the lambic tasting thread, cheers!
I'm kinda glad megadeth got cancelled now. I'm imagining crashing at your place waking up with you standing over my bed.
Happy Halloween. Doing a queso cheese dip for an app tonight, while drinking a home brewed Oktoberfest.
One of my local burger joints had a signature beer. Had to order it! It's a super cold and rainy day in Copenhagen so don't mind the messy burger. The delivery dude did the best he could. The beer is fine but, as, expected, nothing out of the ordinary.
Teds going formal for lunchHaunted house with a late lunch
106C Tripel from Crane Brewing. I think it's more Belgian IPA than tripel.
I was going to post a picture of the delicious burger that my wife made for dinner, but my memory card has once again no longer is recognized as a formatted disk and the files are lost. I wonder if there's a way I could pin the blame on the camera, the card, the reader, or the OS. The day started poorly and is continuing poorly. Happy fucking Halloween. I think I'll have an oude gueuze next and pair something with a whisky after that.
Happy Halloween, BA ghouls and goblins! This beer seems appropriate. It's one I've wanted to try for awhile and did not disappoint. Thank you, @jdell15! Cheers, everyone,
You've outdone yourself!
I am drinking Hop Cyclone DIPA from Troegs out of PA
I had too much to drink. Said I was out with the boys....
One of the best beer beers I’ve ever drank. Bready, malty snap with a touch of lemon and smoke. Wow
He says Hi!
450 North Brewing - Snow Cone Slushy XL (Starwberry, Lemon, Blueberry & Raspberry)
I would follow @Greywulfken ’s sound advice and put on a mask...but mine melted onto the last person who wore it...
Pontoon Brewing’s “Nightmare Fuel”, a Berliner Style Weiss with cherries, raspberries, black currant and lactose. Mildly tart berries with bitter black currant on the backend. Very refreshing this warm evening. And remember, wear your masks! Hahahaha!!
