Pigeon Hill Cinna-Mom On French Toast Imperial Stout w/ maple, vanilla, and cinnamon. Made a short trip up to Michigan this morning to grab some KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge and came across this Michigan-only beer that I’ve heard some good things about. It hits the french toast note, but is just not as bold in aroma, flavor, and feel as I was hoping. Somewhat watery. That being said, it’s pretty damn smooth and drinkable for 11% and is not nearly as sweet as expected.

At Local Group Brewing in Houston for lunch.

Gravity Dancer Oatmeal Stout, which is excellent. Review over at NBW thread.

Poutine with wild mushrooms, black truffle butter, sunny side up egg, goat cheese and curds, house cut/made fries oh yeah.


Next up is Ale of Skye Scottish Ale. I always really enjoy this one as well. Starting Songs of Enchantment by Ben Okri. Book 2 of his African magical/fantasy trilogy that is just amazing.



I have one more Gueuze to open for the online tasting, see ya over there in a few...

 

Watching Pats/Bills and wondering if Bill B still thinks it was such a shit hot idea to let Brady walk. Their offense does not look good so far this year. Newton has been inaccurate and his TD/INT ratio is brutal. Meanwhile, Brady is lighting it up in Tampa, is a legit MVP candidate and that team is a serious Super Bowl contender.

Drinking Stonecutter Scotch Ale from Renaissance Brewing Company in New Zealand. 7% ABV, a little smoky and a little peaty. A really nice Wee Heavy. Have another beer from this brewery coming up next. Cheers.

Busy day of chores and such.....cold and blustery, just came from a doggo walk and got snowed on a bit! Yikes....



turned in my Fall Hiking spree form today, and got my 34th annual shield for my hiking staff

Transient Rainbows & Waterfalls DIPA (Citra, Mosaic, Galaxy, Belma). Between their fruity ester proprietary yeast and the hops, this is a fruit salad. Banana, tangerine, valencia orange, passionfruit, slight blueberry, strawberry, melon, pineapple, papaya, mango, and grass. Dense, creamy, and pillowy. Excellent haze.
