    We took down the gazebo because of high winds. On-and-off drizzling didn't stop me from enjoying an afternoon on the back deck. Book, beer, smoke, music. Familiar.

    Trying more IPAs. I would rank this one behind Stone, TwoHearted and Tropicalia, but it's a nice change of pace.

    A beautiful day, out in the courtyard with book and beer. Orval and Ben Okri's Infinite Riches. The last of his Famished Road Trilogy Cycle, and these are fantastic low fantasy books that are like fever dreams mixed with poetry and a fable.

    Polly's Brew (UK) - Strip & Drift.

    This makes for an interesting West Coast IPA that is not quite what I expected, but rather enjoyable in its own way. While it's a little bit too sweet and boozy for my personal taste, it's really not that bad for the ABV and makes up for that with a rather distinct, almost pungent, herbal and earthy character, as well as some spicy accents, that almost overshadow the resinous, bitter notes a little here, with a nice, but not quite aggressive bitterness in the finish.

    Sierra Nevada Celebration IPA (Cascade, Centennial, Chinook). My first one of the year and it doesn’t disappoint. Consistently great year in and year out.
