Ending the night with a 2016 Bourbon County Brand Stout. As soon as the cap was lifted I was getting heaps of intense chocolatey bourbon barrel notes. Once the cap was taken off this thing exudes dark amber maple syrup notes, oaky barrel, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, bourbon galore, hints of vanilla, lightly smoked meat, sweet char, dark chocolate, coffee roast, some dark fruits, hint of black cherry and plum, slight raisin, dried fig, with a touch of mild hops in balance. Tastes like dark brandied fruits, mapley molasses, dark toffee, cooked brown sugar, caramel, smooth bourbon barrel, rich luscious chocolate, coffee roast, lightly smoked meat, sweet char, dried fruits, hint of tobacco and leather, with mild hops balancing. Really great and this might be better than the last bottle of BCBS I had. Cheers everyone!

Pumpkin Schwarzbier, I was pretty apprehensive but this is well done. Pumpkin/spice flavors are subtle, which is where a lot of pumpkin beers go wrong

2019 BCBS. I posted about it over in the BCBS tasting thread. I don't have the stamina or the attention span to drink an entire bottle of this in one night anymore (hey Goose: bring back the 12oz bottles), so I'm going to try a trick I learned on here or Untappd and put a cork in it for tomorrow. It'll be interesting to see what that does to the flavor profile, I suppose!

I think I’m in the minority here, but I think I liked 2019 better. Seemed to have a much bolder flavor but I could be wrong. I still have one 2019 left to compare

Black Friday tradition for me is to kick off the Christmas season by sitting in the glow of my Christmas tree in the living room and enjoy that year's Bourbon County

This has been an exceptionally strange year for all, and especially with me and my SO working in the medical field it has been quite a long and stressful year of uncertainty and having to deal with a lot of work related stress. I am going to enjoy the Christmas season this year. I pledged that these next 4 weeks will be a time to enjoy myself a bit after a chaotic Spring, Summer, and Fall.

He's played a bunch of stuff across his career. When I first became aware of him (Blow By Blow era) he was mostly a Les Paul guy. But before, and since, he's mostly a Strat guy. Lord knows, he's destroyed enough of everything to start a museum! He is also a notorious crank, who cares little for what he did in the past.

This was from a tour when he and SRV were on a co-headlining tour, and specifically, a CBS records corporate event. I suspect he was trying new things, and gave zero fucks about what anybody else thought.

    Dude is damn awesome though!

Mikkeller SD Beer Geek Peanut Butter Shake (11.8% ABV) paired with some coffee cake my aunt made for Thanksgiving. A nice pairing for sure. Good beer, but definitely seems a bit conservative in terms of peanut butter flavor. Maybe a smart idea, but also somewhat of a let-down in a sense.

    Review here!

Not too high on the pucker scale, drying, and some old shoe aroma with tart, lemony peaches and a little acid burn to match the booze warmth at the finish.

    Slainte!
