Now onto beer #3, also from @bstoos . I’m not sure how this happened, but this Genny beer is fucking stellar. Smoke, molasses, dark fruit, with some spicy hops. I dig Schwarzbiers in general, but this is above and beyond. Winter wheelhouse beer.

Well day off work and got a pour over coffee maker for Christmas and some kratom so obviously I cleaned the fucking house with no intention of doing so. Now to rehydrate. Who wants to come over?

Can I come over and jam some karaoke? I would describe my vocals somewhere between Lemmy and Geddy Lee

Toronto has been in lockdown since Nov. 23rd yet reported a record number of Covid cases today, so something ain't working.

Starting off the day with Collective Arts Ransack The Universe. No pic as it's been up many times.

A great song from the debut album of Arcade Fire. The problem with a first recording this exceptional is that it's virtually impossible to surpass, and sure enough, they haven't come particularly close to this level of quality since. Cheers.

Toppling Goliath - Mornin' Delight (batch 5)

This has long been a bucket list bottle of mine, as it is for almost everyone who likes stouts. I was lucky enough to get a 12oz bottle of batch 2 in a trade, but someone ended up sending me an incredibly generous box of Cantillon, I felt I had to include that one as a surprise. An unbelievably kind, generous, rockstar BA surprised me with this bottle as a belated birthday gift, and I couldn't believe it. I maintain that, despite the little keyboard skirmishes we sometimes see here, it really is one of the most tight-knit and generous communities out there.

I'm just finishing this off after opening it late last night, and I can confidently say, this is officially one of my favourite stouts.

I don't even care that it isn't barrel-aged. This stuff is the real deal. Chris, thank you so very much for this. I will absolutely seek this out again.

Cheers, everyone! I hope you all had a splendid holiday.

Brewery X is about a 10-15 drive from here. Really nice hazy with persistent head like meringue....Meanwhile, my scheduled dual hip replacement is now deferred indefinitely because the fools that think Covid is a joke and who can't grasp the concept of social distancing have flooded the hospital. ya...I'm pissed. It is one thing to think businesses should have a right to modify their operations and keep serving the public, but it is altogether different to go out and party indoors with 20 of your "closest friends" then run around and infect people.
