It’s pseudo-Friday, here. Leaving with the girlfriend in the morning to go back to NJ to spend NYE with her parents and her brother and his girlfriend. We’ve been bubbling since Thanksgiving.

Did a same day delivery from Threes today, including an 18-pack of SNPA pints to bring with us. When I sent a pic to our group text, her dad told me he wished he’d known about it before he went out and bought 2 1/2 cases of beer this afternoon. Oh, darn..

For now, Grimm Lumen and weird Shostakovich.

Haven't bought this stuff in years because last time I had it it was like drinking a Yankee Candle. Mother-in-Law gave me a 6-pack that she received as a gift and did not want because she's not a beer drinker.

It's actually tasting pretty great to me right now...

Drinking a Brookline Ave DIPA right now. Still pretty stankity dankity, wild passionfruit flavors, mangosteen, jackfruit, hint of durian, cantaloupe, tropical citrus fruits, light oniony dank notes, earthy, herbal, floral, resinous, pretty interesting. Cheers all!

Also, allow me to put any speculation to bed. Hunter did not have a DUI. I don't do that shit; I'm too old. Haha!

@basaywhat was nice enough to send me this Hop Butcher. Thanks, sir! Oh yeah, I don't normally care for Sabro, but this one is nice! Cheers.

That's 70 calories of NA goodness right there. Near perfect for those non-alcohol days. My favorite NA IPA so far, but I do want to try more...and more, and more. :-)

Hung out this afternoon at NoFo Brew Co. They have some seriously drinkable brews. Had to slow down a tad, lest I got stupid.

My Porter Boy Coffee Porter Nitro version
    [IMG]

    And

Their seasonal Holiday Saison Farmhouse Ale. This one I had to inquire with the brewer what it was spiced with (cinnamon, ginger & nutmeg).

Another from Sam's gameday sampler. Much better than the Alpine Lager which is the reason I bought the sampler in the first place. I really miss the Alpine Spring they used to put out a few years back and thought maybe that it would be similar but it wasn't. Cold Snap is a better beer and has that classic Sam's touch of yeast I enjoy from time to time. The Alpine Lager had that syrupy feel never enjoy. Cheers !

This post is brought to you by Cat Butt.

    Amherst Brewing - Jess NEIPA.

The beer does not taste like cat butt. It tastes oxidized though, really overripe fruit.

Smug Brewing Hop Mess. It was a gift. Not sure I'd drink it again, unfortunately. I counted 46 different hops in this beer (I'm an engineer, so I'm not very good with numbers). The French Fuggle hops definitely stood out the most. Cheers!

Decided to take a stab at the last indoor dining of 2020. Beer #1: Champion Shower Beer from Charlottesville, Virginia on tap, a gorgeously fruity Czech Pilsner.

Beer #2: A second Champion Shower Beer from Charlottesville, Virginia on tap: it was so good I couldn't resist.

Maximum Florida by Westbrook Brewing received from @Mbgreg earlier this year. This is super tasty. I was originally going to drink a stout tonight, but am glad I called a last second audible.

New Trail Goggles DIPA. This just might be my beer of the year, right up with Slice Farmed Fresh and the March batch of Sosus. Just a few of these left, with one possibly going to one of my regular trade partners. Cheers!

Not sure if my IPA palate is off tonight, but the Grimm Lumen was lackluster and this Other Half Hop Showers isn’t much better. Also, this was purchased from Threes in Brooklyn and was canned at OH’s DC facility.

Didn't have any sahti handy, so I resorted to a stray Oktoberfest from the far reaches of the fridge to accompany this kick-ass Xmas present- the history of Finnish death metal.

And I bought myself an Xmas gift:

I’ll then have to reignite the speculations: you have taken a break from drinking for a week or so? That’s what I do once a month. Seriously it’s good, cleanse the palate and makes the next beers so tasty.
