    ...probably just a single beer today, but may as well make it a good one...one of the crowlers I brought back from my recent trip to my hometown of Mansfield, Ohio...

    look: 4.25 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4.25

    India ink colored body; thick and creamy tan head. Rich roasted grain aroma with elements of cocoa and earthy spiciness; suggestion of dark roast coffee. Big sweet and spicy flavors; milk chocolate; cayenne and chipotle pepper; a touch of licorice; very little perceived bitterness. Heavy, oily mouthfeel with some fine peppery heat.

    This is a well-balanced and deeply complex beer. The malt sweetness and hot pepper presence easily masks the 9.0% ABV. The beer makes for a fine cold weather sipper.

    Agreed completely. Serious question, do they ever/often rebrew? It feels like every week is a new beer, but I haven't seen what you'd call a "core lineup." (Except Broken Heels?) And when it's not winter, are the beers themed according to different seasons?

    Hop Butcher Double Blazed Orange Milkshake DIPA (orange, vanilla, lactose, Citra/Strata). So. Much. Vanilla. It’s melted vanilla ice cream/marshmallow for days in combination with bright, fleshy navel orange, orange juice from concentrate, and slight orange pith towards the finish. There’s a hop presence that makes itself known towards the finish, but it’s hard to pick out specific contributions from it other than some pine due to the strong adjuncts. Full body with a thick, creamy feel. Ridiculous, but it’s exactly as advertised. Cheers!
