What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #3017

We alder-smoked a pound of King Salmon this morning, and now enjoying a Head Full o’ Dynomite #25 paired up nicely with it. New releases of the HFoD series are an automatic grab for me. This one is not as much to my taste & pref, as the Citra and Nelson hops could have been more front and center. Also a bit too sweet and not as pillowy-smooth as I’ve come to expect from HFoD.

 

Going to find out why Elvis is associated with this near beer.

 

Yup, this is the pinnacle of Rev Deep Woods in my opinion! Had one last night and just had to have another today. And that covers every single packaged release and one-off release party variants over the years since that first Straight Jacket bomber in 2012! I always wondered what would happen if Rev came into some Apple Brandy barrels. Between this and a crowler of Apple Brandy Double Barrel VSOD I got my answer, pure perfection as only Rev can coax out of wood!

Their food is really good and they have other stuff.. not just tacos!

Firs up was Maine Beer Company's Mean Old Tom, review over at NBW thread. Its a good stout, if not particularly unique, but has that typical subtle balance that all Maine beers have. Which I always appreciate.

Started reading Mordew by Alex Pheby. A new fantasy novel in the vain of Mervyn Peake's Gormenghast Trilogy, which has me really curious.


Next up is 512 Pale, will probably have a couple of these today. Always great. Spinning the masterful Ryo Fukui album Mellow Dream.

Thank God It's Friday from Black Stack. It's an OK DDH TIPA. That's a lot of capital letters in a row. I probably should have drunk this yesterday, based on the name.

He's a martial artist and a story in Ontario is that he once pounded the shit out of Eric Lindros at a bar in the Muskoka's because of a derogatory comment about figure skating made by Lindros.

 

Their food is what draws me there too. So good! I also do enjoy their lagers. Cheers and enjoy!
