Hey @scream fucker. Yours truly transitioned beyond beer. No pics allowed.

Here is hoping you are doing ok my friend. My guess is you are causing your usual havoc and mayhem.

    Wow! That's a shame.

And I just got a copy of this album yesterday in the mail. Played the first three sides and love it...

Well, he's got a fine legacy of music to be remembered by...

And I see you got the Same River's Contours album which is amazing. I think Corea's Now He Sings, Now He Sobs is also in the Tone Poet series. I will have to track that down.

My problem with Bell’s Porter is that 9/10 times it sits next to Bell’s Kzoo Stout on the shelf, and the Stout somehow makes it into my cart instead. :beers:

I don't know if you saw on some of my posts yesterday, but if you like Sam Rivers, I got four CDs of some live recordings of him in trio/quartet/quintet combos from NoBusinessRecords out of Lithuania yesterday, too...'Richocet' seems to appeal to jazz music critics - I prefer 'Zenith'...supposedly, at least four more releases will be coming from this label...

Plus, I did dig up my Mosaic CD box set of Rivers' Blue Note dates...wish I would have the vinyl, but so it goes...

Poured a 12 ounce bottle into a tulip. Blackish brown body with small head that fades quickly into a thin ring. Don't detect much coffee in the aroma, more like chocolate, malts, brown sugar/molasses and booze. Get a bit more coffee in the taste otherwise echoes the aroma. Nicely lightly syrupy in the mouthfeel but still, despite the lack of a head, with carbonation. Like other Prairie big stouts this is very balanced with nothing sticking out.

Although Prairie stouts are high priced, I've never had one that makes me feel like I didn't get a good value.

Thanks, I really appreciate that. A short story. I originally tried to qualify for the 100th Boston at the Montreal Marathon in Sept. 1995. At 30km I was about two minutes slower than the qualifying time I needed and was slipping by the km. It wasn’t my day. Rather than kill myself for no reason, I make a tough decision and dropped out at about 31km, knowing I had one more chance in Toronto a month later, where I did qualify. If I had punished myself needlessly just to finish Montreal, I’m not sure I would recovered sufficiently to qualify in Toronto. Cheers.

Absolutely love Sam Rivers, including the NoBusiness releases. Tenor, soprano, flute or piano, he is a true original.
