    2nd brew of the morning is from Foreland Brewing, Upstream Mend is called a "North American Pale Ale" on the label. It's a pretty nice brew.

    look: 4.25 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.75

    Clear, dark brown body capped with a thick and creamy khaki hued head; nice presence of foam sheets coat the glass. An intriguing aroma of roasted grain, charred wood, and bright spiciness. The taste appears to be a shadow of what the smell suggests; light roasted grain presence with a bit of whiskey edge; tasty dark malt notes; hazelnut circulates throughout; minimal hop bitterness noted. Medium body; thin and rather watery; semi-sweet with a bit of dryness at the finish of each sip.

    The brewery doesn't leave much detail about the beer. The bottle has no mention of what barrels were used during the aging process nor the bottling date. Also, for an imperial beer, the body seems rather thin. The flavor improves as the beer sits and warms. All in all, a good beer, weak in some areas but ultimately tasty.

    Served at 56° F, no bottling date info available.

    Sticky Fingers DIPA my Spindletap Brewery in Houston, TX. May be the most turbid beer I’ve seen. Drinks like a dream. I know there are some obvious song pairings with this one, but I’m trying to teach the rooster next door to sing more like Plant.
