Been looking forward to trying this one. My local beer retailer ordered this because I asked and he said he sold a bunch as soon as they got it in. Don't be afraid to ask! Got a four pack for me and one for my dad for Father's Day. The Helles Lager is quickly becoming one of my favorite styles. This one doesn't disappoint. Weihenstephaner Helles (hope I spelled that right!). Cheers!

Moving on, I'm having a Vedett Extra White. It's a Belgian Wit. I had my first one of these yesterday. Today reaffirms what I thought yesterday. This is really good.

I can’t make the next Beer Science Tuesday here at the pub, so I brought in a bottle to share with the bar - Trappistes Rochefort 10:



Bottled Nov. 16, 2011. Poured at 58°. Amazing! Exc. clarity /deep amber;quick pale tan cap. Sweet caramel malt and stone fruit nose. Figs, plums, tobacco and dirt. Silky smooth feel, light body. Overall, very mellow and well balanced for almost 10 years old!; no oxidation nor off flavors. Another successful cellar pull from my basement cellar in WV. Delicious!

 

I hit up Live Oak yesterday and brought back some of their brewery only beers, including Bake Sale, brewed with TexMalt and blue corn grits.

 

Uh... mediocre.
