Nice, fresh Second Fiddle - stuff is damn fine.

 

Had this earlier for lunch, Ben's House West Coast IPA by True Anomaly, at a new Portuguese/Indian "fusion" place called Da Gama. I hate the term for restaurants, but it fits here, and its amazing. Review for Ben's House over at NBW. I hold True Anomaly in very high regard in Houston. This is a classic old school West Coast IPA for sure, its not exactly my tastes, think its a bit unbalanced and just simple C Hop flavors. Which is far from bad, right now got it at a B, might even push it to a B+ next time I have it, as it is well made. Any big bitter fans will love it, I can for certain beers, but its never been my favorite, though its always growing on me just a bit more

Anyway, wood grilled lamb ribs in spicy curry sauce. Holy crap, this is just amazing.

It is such a perfect July day, and I have my favorite drinking buddy back home for a visit, after he moved in with my ex-wife recently. This beer is perfect for this weather! Up next in my rotation is a barrel-aged stout of some type. Not sure if I should follow my traditional Saturday beer algorithm. @TheIPAHunter, Riff Raff is coming to Madison, WI, next month. I know he is not considered a proper hip-hop artist by many people, but I am a huge fan. I am not sure if that event would be worth taking two days off of work, since it is a weeknight.

 

It's a beautiful Saturday afternoon here in North Jersey. I slept very late this morning, triaged some work emails, and then fought the never-ending battle of the weeds. Our neighbor has a "Tree of Heaven" (aka "Tree of Hell") at the rear of their property and I constantly have to pull the tiny trees that invade our yard. Time now for a beer: a West Coast IPA from Durty Bull in Durham, NC. Cheers!

Ambrosia Kriek from Elliott Bay. Barrel aged sour. 'Ambrosia' is overselling a bit. Not bad though.

 

Don't get me started on how different the experience was going to a Boston Bruins championship parade in 2011, while in town for the Brewers/Red Sox series, wearing a Ryan Braun jersey, versus going to the Milwaukee Bucks championship parade!

 

I meant go after those Red Sox fans, not us helpless without Max Nats fans!

Took a mental health/I need fkn sun before I kill someone day.
Had a killer Lunch:Thick cut bacon and heirloom tomato, local lettuce BLT. Used potato bread. Shit toasts very well. Now buttermilk/texas pete marinated chicken smoke roasting with apple wood on the grill. Time for my last Heady. Still tasting great at 60 days.
