A Great Lineup Tonight! ... Tonight's Blind Battle Beer Tasting:
(All were correctly matched in the blind test)

    1) Pryes Pragmatic Pils (4.2%): A Czech Pilsner from Minnesota that has flavors of lemon citrus, flower, yeast, and cereal malts. Drinks crisp and clean with a light body.
    versus
    2) Summit Dakota Soul (4.8%): This Czech Pilsner from Minnesota is brewed with North Dakota barley and has flavors of bitter flower/grass, salty bread malt, and yeast. Complex.

    3) Sam Adams Summer Ale (5.8%): A citrus wheat ale from Boston that has flavors of lemon/lime citrus, wheat, with a peppery spice from the African Grains of Paradise used in this beer.
    versus
    4) Three Floyd’s Gumball Head (5.6%): A citrus wheat ale from 3 Floyds that has flavors of orange, tangerine, gummy bear atop a sweet gumball sweet malt body. Finishes sweet.

    5) Three Floyd’s Barbarian Haze IPA (6.5%): A hazy IPA from Indiana that has juicy citrus flavors of orange, tangerine, with light flower/pine with a soft malt body. Leans sweet.
    versus
    6) New Belgium’s Voodoo Ranger V2K IPA (6.9%): A hazy IPA from Colorado with intensely tropical flavors of grapefruit, guava, and papaya. Incredibliy tropical and a lot like fruit punch.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Winners:

    2) Summit Dakota Soul: This is the best American-made Czech Pilsner I've come across. Authentic in all regards. Pragmatic Pils was good, but lighter bodied, less malty, and more similar to a German pilsner.

    3) Sam Adams Summer Ale: Two fantastic summer beers here, but I preferred the Sam Adams. The Grains of Paradise are a nice addition that gives it a unique citrus and pepper kick. Drinks like a more complex Sprite. Gumballhead is good too, but leaned slightly sweeter which is a bit cloying for a wheat beer in the hot weather.

    6) New Belgium's Voodoo Ranger V2K IPA: This is one of the best macro NEIPAs I've tried. Intensely tropical. Reminds me of theCapri Sun Fruit Punch as a kid.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have you tried Summit Dakota Soul, & what did you think?
Have you tried Sam Admas Summer Ale and what is your favorite summer wheat beer?
Have you tried either Barbarian Haze or Voodoo Ranger V2K IPA? Did you think V2K was the best Voodoo Ranger IPA?

The 1990's into 2000's is when I was there most...Ireland now has a kick-ass craft beer scene. I'm a member of an Irish craft beer forum on FB. Pretty remarkable.

Best wishes, it is a bit nerve wracking to start a new job after working a long time at another, especially one that was family owned. I bet you will be fine.

Trying a brew that would normally scare me off. Collective Arts Better Than Chocolate and Coconut. It's a porter that's below 6% abv, which is what roped me in. It's also got chocolate and coconut flavors, which are the things I normally steer clear of when it comes to beer. But you know what, its not that bad. Definitely not something I'm putting back in large quantities (12 oz would have been fine instead of this 16), but it's yummy all the same. I like the can art.

Wax Wings Into the Labyrinth: Route 25 Experimental IPA. Even at 6 weeks, this is a really soft and pleasant fruity and floral IPA with a decently dry and bitter finish.
