[IMG] Tonight's Blind Battle Beer Tasting Lineup (All CANS tonight!): (All 3 out of 3 pairs correctly identified blind)

    1) Ballast Point Longfin Lager (4.5%): A German helles lager from California with honey, soft bread, and malt flavors. Smooth and drinkable.
    versus
    2) Firestone Lager (4.5%): A German helles lager from California brewed since 2000 and has smooth and easy, drinking flavors of pale malts, lemon citrus and light honey and Munich malts. A substantial yeast profile. Crisp and Clean.

    3) Kansas Territory Brewing Life Coach Lager: An American Lager from Kansas that has flavors of pale malts, some adjuncts, but with a smooth honey and bread malt finish.
    versus
    4) Bent Paddle’s Classic Cream (5.0%): A cream ale from Minnesota that has smooth flavors of cream and honey.

    5) Hop Valley Mango & Stash IPA (6.0%): An IPA from Oregon made with Mosaic hops with an addition of mango for flavors of resinous tropical fruit with a slight mango twist.
    versus
    6) Kona Brewing Gold Cliff IPA (7.2%): An IPA from Lanai made with local pineapple for a flavors of tropical fruit, sweet pineapple, cloying citrus. Drinks sweet.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Winners:

    2) Firestone Lager: This one takes the cake in terms of complexity. It has the toasty Munich malts, the yeast, and the hints of citrus. Sort of Americanizes the term helles lager.

    3) Life Coach Lager: At first I didn't want to give this the nod. It does have a slight adjunct flavor, but I think this one drinks superior in the summertime. Extremely smooth and an excellent finish.

    5) Hop Valley Mango & Stash IPA: Better than I expected for an IPA at 6.0%. It had nice tropical flavors, while being appropriately clean.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Have you tried Firestone Lager or Longfin Lager and which did you prefer?
Have you tried Mango & Stash or Gold Cliff IPA and what did you think?

More poppy 80's music with a bit more nuance  Not always a fan of over produced 80's but Simple Minds always seemed to hit that right balance for me, for whatever reason.

True Anomaly Beryl, its OK, maybe a bit more enjoyable than last time cause I'm not thinking about it to much. Simple Minds New Gold Dream

My parents play backgammon all the time, I'm only peripherally interested and play when one of them wants out. Usually when we are on the beach for vacation. A big cooler for the table, that holds the Gin and Tonics and beer, I'm just reading, and they are playing till one of us gets board of the current activity and we switch...ah beach life :sunglasses:

One of those nights where I grabbed Johnsonville. And since I’ve been on a Hatch Green Chile kick, thought I’d keep that going. Actually, I wonder how some of that salsa would be on these…

I gave in BA. It was 92° today, but I still gave in…grabbed a sixer…

Hype Train from Magnify Brewing. It's the first time Mag has brewed it since early 2017. It's a Citra single-hopped TIPA hopped conditioned on mangoes and passion fruit. The brewery claims the recipe has changed but I'm not sure how. It's as astringent as I remember it with a big yeast burn that should mellow as it ages in the can. What a beer! It's not for the faint-hearted.

This is the last time I had it in February 2017. Different house - different world! (but same glass).
