    Afternoon, all! We are going to take a family hike about an hour away. That seems like a darn good excuse to simmer some chili. :grinning:

    @mschrei , heard only a portion of the Flashback, but will likely post a few clips this week. 1968 is one of the years I don’t get into too much since I wasn’t born until a year later.

    See if I can survive four stops today like yesterday. I’m on the quest for a few Fresh Hop beers.

    It's super tasty. It's my grandmother's recipe, with some tweaks. I hate tomatoes, so I use a couple cans of paste instead of stewed tomatoes (the flavor is fine, but a chunk of tomato on my spoon ruins it lol). I add just a dash of cinnamon, too. Then I add hot peppers. In this case, jalapenos for a base-level of heat, a poblano for a nice roasty note, and a Scotch bonnet for the high heat. I change up the peppers every time. Then, taste throughout the long hours, and add brown sugar or vinegar as necessary for balance.

    I've never had any complaints. :grinning:

    (The beer was pretty damn good, too!)

    Bangor Derailed, a blonde iced coffee milk stout. Light carbonation and coffee flavor. Lactose in the taste, but blonde stouts continue not be in my wheelhouse. Cheers!

    I'm at gate city growlers with @dbrauneis . He has significantly more beard that his profile pic. He's cool as fuck as expected. Amazing stories with other members too. :sunglasses:

    I had a catawba peanut butter jelly time. It's pretty good. Not much pb. Solid raspberry. Nice biscuit crusty malt backbone. Light herbal bitterness. Pretty smooth. 3.68
