[IMG] Tonight's Blind Battle Beer Tasting Lineup: (All 3 out of 3 pairs correctly matched blind)

    1) Dos Equis Lager (4.2%): A dry Meixcan lager with flavors of pale malts, bread spice, and yeast
    versus
    2) Orangeboom Lager (5.0%): A European pale lager with flavors of citrus, pale malts and a bready malt profile.

    3) Pearl Street Lederhosen Lager (5.5%): A Marzen beer from Wisconsin that has Marzen flavors of orange citrus hops, herbal, and a toasty malt profile.
    versus
    4) Sierra Nevada’s Oktoberfest (5.5%): An amber Marzen style from California with flavors of orange, pine soap, and caramel malts.

    5) Firestone Walker Propagator Citra IPA (5.6%): A NEIPA from California brewed solely with the Citra hop that has flavors of
    versus
    6) Firestone Walker Propagator Nectaron IPA (5.6%): A NEIPA from California brewed solely with the Nectaron hop that has flavors of pineapple, passionfruit, peach, and grapefruit.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Winners:

    1) Dos Equis Lager:
This one has really grown on me over the years. Its incredibly dry, yeasty with a mild spice. Very drinkable.

    4) Pearl Street Lederhosen Lager
: I found this one to drink very pleasant nice hoppy notes, orange citrus, and toasty bread malts. I think it drinks more accurate to an Oktoberfest than Sierra Nevada, which is a good beer, but always has the pine soap flavors. Surprisingly impressed.

    6) Firestone Walker Propagator Nectaron
: A nice showcase of Nectaron hop profile which has tropical flavors with some orange citrus underneath. A nice body and balanced finish. The Citra version was too mild.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What is your favorite European or Mexican lager?
Have you tried Pearl Street Lederhosen Lager and what did you think?
Have you tried Firestone Walker Propagator Nectaron or Citra, and what did you think?

Got thirsty after watching for eleven hours a landscaping crew of seven cut down six large trees, fill one and one-half dump trucks with the wood, grind the stumps, cut down two dozen medium size trees and put them through the chipper and grind the stumps. Not to mention shredding up more shrubs I could count and dealing with some nasty stuff including poison ivy/oak roots thick as a snake, Then they spent time raking and leaf blowing to make the yard look really good.

    Money well spent.

We have a similar project next week.
I am loathed to remove large trees, my sweetheart is the project manager.
Yeah cranes in your yard attract “ oohs and Awes “ the loss is generational.
    Our neighbors will be applauding.

Hope everyone had a good Tuesday. Finally getting used to the systems and found some excel macros stored away and that will make my life a shit ton easier down the road. Finally in the actual engineering mindset of before, but I get to use Creo all the time since we aren't in production yet.

I still have more backstock of stuff I have reviewed, but others I haven't, so I will definitely knock out some more reviews soon. I reviewed this 750 ml in 2018, but this was released in 2019 right before everything happened. So now here it is again. Fantastic as usual. Super jammy with moderate sourness and acidity. Mild puckering. Crisp acidic finish with tannins lightly lingering. Pretty refreshing. I'll miss access to speciation but I'm sure there are new sour breweries to find here. 4.25

I decided to try 'Big Swell' even though it's past it's prime at 040121. It's actually good still. Nice citrus hop leaning orange grapefruit. The right amount of malt. Probably fantastic fresh. No bitterness yet.

No, it was a much more boring start to the day. Haven't smoked weed in a very long time. Used the remaining balance of Wal-Mart gift card. First trip there in a year, only one human cashier (sad). I wish 20 minutes of cleaning would do the trick. Hope you hit'em well at the golf range. Next trip for me into Indiana may be the electric slide South Shore to 18th street Gary, unless I go up to Bell's/Founders this Fall.

Love the AleSmith discussion @The_Kriek_Freak @JamFuel @RaulMondesi . It's also definitely among my favorites of the style. Inspired me to crack open another, paired with Taco Burrito King, Chicago's taco equivalent to Budweiser, the King of Beers.

One month old, delicious. So glad they are distributing here now. Still room in Chicago for The Alchemist, Lawsons, Tree House and Russian River!

Sticking with the women artist theme.

The large trees were all in the back yard and side yard and close to the house. Branches were over the house, and some up against the roof and against the house. They had to go.

Happy Smoktoberfest! Not bad. Not bad at all. This marzen lager is like smoked creamy dark black tea in a cedar cup and it's sweet. Keep up the good work everyone! Prost!

It happens. Sometimes I get preoccupied for a few days and forget to make a brewery run or even just a grocery store beer run. These last few days fit that description.

Other than stouts, which I prefer to drink in cooler weather, the only beer I have is four Longboards and one Landshark. They will have to do for tonight. I know what I will be doing tomorrow though.

I need to go back to GR. That was one of my favorite trips. Founders and the river front on polish festival day? Yeah good times. I need to go back to that sculpture garden with some of this weed. Apparently it’s supposed to be 3x as strong and psychedelic as regular thc. Not buying it. PS what kind of trees do mushrooms grow?
