That my friend has been my goal for a number of years now.
OH Patchwork V3, it can be assumed that it is very good, and all assumptions are correct. @eppCOS FYI I'm seeing Outer Range at my local also, have you tried Ledges DIPA???
A friend sent me some brews from damn near th’other side of the country. Figured I’d start with a GABF winner from his local favorite:
Wren House Spellbinder reminds me a little of a few Ocelot brews, even though I think there might be a bit more adjunct in this. Clean, soft, simple but tasty with a fair hop bitterness. I’m thankful!
Almost exactly 5 years old…10/26/16…BBA Ten Fidy stovepipe. Not quite a side-by-side to yesterday’s 2020 version, but pretty close.
Poured cold to a tulip glass. Nose is mostly a dark chocolate malt. Half-finger mocha head that disappears quickly. First sips lack any sweetness from the bourbon or malts, opting to go hard on barrel wood presence and an astringent alcohol bite. It’s not off-putting, but it’s definitely morphed into a different profile. It’s really a sipper now, as a full mouthful would likely be too strong. Intense dark cocoa type maltiness. Mouthfeel is medium, with a lingering alcohol bite.
Courtesy of a co-worker who was passing through Cherry Valley yesterday. Thanks, Ivy!
otra COWICHE CANYON
*not even close, best CC i've ever had
Damn, that looks kick ass good! I am ready for the cooler weather and some good stouts.
She must, she married me.
What is that? A shot glass??!!
Oh taboo I know, but had a happy hour cocktail after some Vietnamese. With a great classic Gin Martini. With white Vermouth, Citadelle Gin. One of my favorite cocktail spots called Johnny's Gold Brick, just down the road. Well, there was this odd jazz tune playing...wait for it, it was Bitches Brew. Yeah, I never hear my kind of music at a bar, ever, so I was happy
Just had to share that, so I could get a good Martini shot in
And now spinning Bitches Brew with a VITUS...
Horned-devil Teddy? Just in time for Halloween!
Thanks @BigIronH ! I actually thought of that and check it out first, but Weltenburger seems to be much different than any of the examples. It may simply be a lot number anyway. Who knows! Cheers!
Snowing? Oh hell to the no. You get out of here with that talk!
That’s a new combo…does it work together?
Reminds me of a former life. In the mid to late seventies, I was an auditor with state government. Only beer and wine could be sold outside of state liquor stores.
Anyway, I was in charge for three years of auditing the state liquor monopoly. This involved unannounced inventories of state liquor stores and an annual inventory and reconciliation of the warehouse.
Holy crap! If you could have seen the booze in the warehouse. A city block of booze stacked to the ceiling as far as the eye could see. It took all day to perform the inventory. One of my favorite assignments! The least favorite assignments was having to go into the worst of the worst state prisons to do an audit.
Couple of mahi tacos and the "never too far away" Jai Alai....
Little Sip and wings. Cheers!
I never would have known about John Prine were it not for the VB!
Victory Dry Hopped Prima Pils, cheers!
I agree. The words “snow” and “work” should not be allowed!
I hope all is well on your end my friend. Still warm in Richmond.
Your reasoning is flawless.
On world mental health day…important to note: suicide robs the world. RIP Keith Flint.
Thing 2 would love you right now.
This one really sounds fantastic. I wonder if it will see distro out west...probably not!
This is exactly what you expect, really tasty.
You will be drinking it soon Jeff. A 12 pack of tasty stuff should hit your porch in the next 7 days.
Nice over here on the deck…low to mid 70s.
Whilst drinking beer.
Finished product. Chillin' ...
Lone Star time.
My new favorite hit song
It’s great when things come together, btw you are a positive influence culturing this thread! Bravo !
Good to hear. A couple of weeks ago, hired folks to get rid of the woods encroaching our house from the back and side. Now thinking about building a patio with a fire pit on the now open space. All new to me. Any recommendations or things I need to consider?
I think the rules give Poo-Bahs one free pass each day.
Hell virtual Bar goers, gonna get a few in tonight; foot surgery in the AM to do something about this Plantar Fasciitis & Bone Spurs. Not sure how much I am getting to the beer fridge the next few days.
Founders KBS Cinnamon, Vanilla & Cocoa.
Good luck on the surgery and hopefully a quick recovery!!
Good luck tomorrow

...and getting close to backing up my final two partitions...
...my first active duty station was Beale AFB in 1984...and the first aircraft I saw fly from there was the SR-71. It was during our squadron intro tour (1883 CS). The comm squadron ran the tower, and the actual tower was being rennovated, so during our intro tour, we went out to the mobile tower setup along the runway, and lo and behold, an SR-71 was launching...kids, I'll tell you, you don't know what power and thrill is until your standing literally feet away from a launching SR-71...wish I had pictures and/or video, but the memory itself is burned into my brain...the following 16-18 months, every time I saw one launch, it was like watching some kind of Star Wars space ship taking off...early evenings were especially interesting...
I don't know about that, but thanks
