Pre-gaming for Side Project’s 7th anniversary week events with Saison du Fermier in Pinot Noir Puncheons (Blend #4) and Oude La Ruche (2019). Two of my favorite saisons.

 

I had both, purchased at the same time recently. I agree with @JayORear, DDH Eviscerated was top notch and this batch of Alien Church was outstanding. I Don’t pay much attention to the stuff going on. They definitely dropped off for a while but seem to be back on their game

Nitro Reaper and a new one for me, Tend. A Winter IPA.? Described as being more malty.

Different enough and quite delicious. Still pine and grapefruit with a strong backbone.

Transient Stay Chill Midwest DIPA (Amarillo, Simcoe, Chinook). Transient has started brewing more clear IPA recently and I’m not complaining. Canned 2 days ago. Underripe peach, navel orange, lemon zest, bright floral, some passionfruit, big grapefruit, slight dank, grass and pine resin. Little diacetyl, but nothing off-putting.
I’d argue this is more of a west coast than a midwest DIPA; other than a slight kiss of bready, caramel sweetness up front, this is dry and bitter pretty much throughout. Whatever the style, this is great. Glad I grabbed a 4 pack.

 

Soft and fluffy, subtleties of the DIPA abound in this one. Approachable and delicious with strong Galaxy notes. Frost BW nails it every time, cheers to Saturday beers, BA!

 

Pre dinner beer and my last awesome Westbrook brew from @Mbgreg Thanks again dude. I love this stuff. After a slew of All Day Vacay today, I’m gonna have one more with dinner. Excellent beer, excellent meal.
And now… a 2021 KBS Espresso and a bowl of “Three Kings” Christmas Blend to finish out the night. Been a great day guys, I hope yours has too. Cheers.

I purchased a six pack of this beer based on it's fans I've seen post on here in the last few days. It's pretty enjoyable but I thought all beers were brewed with fresh hops (except where I see "dry hopped" on the label).

I was so happy to get home from work and see our lawn service had cleaned up our yard beautifully. We worked a bit outside today, took a walk with our dog, and went to the big wine store in town complete with tastings in every aisle. Loaded up and am sure we can get to Thanksgiving with that pickup. …returned bottles/cans … was a Fun October for sure.
Lol today sorta sounds lame typing it out,,,, oh well, f*ck it, it’s Saturday!

Verboten Brewing -- Not A Speck Of Light: Mocha (bourbon-barrel aged imperial stout)



...a huge, darkly rich and evil imperial stout...I like it...

This is the 2,500th beer I've rated on this site, which has been a personal milestone for quite a while. It's pretty satisfying to hit this milestone. First beer reviewed on BA was Franziskaner Premium Weissbier on Oct 10, 2007


Having this near Pittsburgh, PA from a 12oz bottled on 2021-08-12

A - Opaque dark brown with a 1.5-finger foamy light brown head and very good lace

S - Nor surprisingly, cinnamon, vanilla, cocoa, roasted grain, alcohol, earthy spice

T - Like drinking a s'more. For those that don't know, a s'more is often down over a campfire and it consists of toasted marshmallows and a layer of chocolate sandwiched between two pieces of graham cracker. In the aftertaste there some espresso latte for some moderating bitterness to cut the sweetness.

M - Full body and light carbonation. Thick and chewy at first but the 12% alcohol helps dry the palate and preps you for the next sip.

O - This is one helluva desert beer. Not at the top of my KBS variants but well worth seeking out.

 

ps-I like all sports (I grew up personally knowing pros in every sport except hockey), but I find I am more hardcore for those you mentioned now. And college Football and basketball, except my teams suck…

I get where you’re coming, they’re Philthy! But, I must admit that as I gotten older I realize they are no longer the Broad Street bullies, well perhaps they still want to be from time to time, so now I am more amused by their wannabe, rather than raging. It’s all good! Cheers!
