TO Ol Yule Maelk 2019. Interesting. Imperial milk stout aged with cacao nibs in rum barrels. 15% in a baby bottle. Poured cellar temp to a Glencairn. Jet black with a thin mocha head. Essentially, everything is bold and identifiable. Nose is rum and dark malts. The flavor is toward the sweet side of stouts (I don’t mind that), with all the characters well integrated and balanced. The rum is forward, pulling in the cacao liqueur-ness. Thick mouthfeel, viscous, with a tongue-coating that lasts for a while. Alcohol has no bite or warming, but is sort of ethereally present. Son bought this on a whim for Thanksgiving but left it behind. His loss.

 

Five years out…drink one…wait five more years!

Hot tub time. We put a few lights up yesterday. That is enough for me. Not even the start of December. Paid + $125 for a fixture, of course it's missing a part. Thanks Lowes, Thanks China. I could put it all back together & get a refund, but jeez, guess I will cobble something together that looks like a Penguin Wing instead, all weather of course.
