We’re having dinner with friends at Josie Kelly’s Public House in Somers Point and I’m tilting a Josie Kelly’s Irish Red - brewed for the restaurant by Somers Point Brewing. Slainte!

This might be my last Kentucky Fog. This has gotten better, but that bergamot and honey are still pretty aggressive. The first time I had one the flavor s were so intense it was a bit difficult to finish. It just needed some time. I suspect this was what they were aiming for.

watching the Blues and Leafs trade goals and then flipping to the Bills vs. Patriots.

 

From experience I can tell you there are more than just a few TH brews that taste as good or better with some age. Evil Julius 2 1/2 months and just stellar. Lots of pineapple, melon, peach,orange, and the softness on the palate for a 9.2% beer is incredible. This at this particular moment is a world class NEIPA. Cheers

Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald porter (only one left from the six pack my wonderful sister-in-law from Cincinnati brought me at Christmas!) followed by Odell’s Isolation Ale winter warmer - two old school favorites!

 

This is the best $5.50 you can spend on Pizza. Great crust but not too thin, plenty of sauce and toppings. Top tier. I am keeping one in the fridge at all times. Pretty much any take and bake from Aldi is amazing and a better value. We are watching Fairly Oddparents on Nick TV.


From IP trade with @hoptheology . Perennial Prism: Hallertau Blanc Centennial. This was awesome. Fluffy head and foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big lemongrass, white grape/wine, red apple, pear, melon, berries, red grapefruit, orange, cedar, mint, peppercorn, clove, light banana, pine, wheat, cracker, hay, straw, elderflower, herbal, grass, and yeast funk/earthiness. Moderate pepper/clove spiciness; and pine, woody, herbal, grassy bitterness on the finish. High carbonation, light-medium body, and crisp/clean finishing. Balanced bready/grainy wheat and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Slight lingering resins. Minimal warming 5.5%. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp dryness. Very refreshing and flavorful. A spot on saison all around. Awesome balance between the yeast and the hop character. Will have to seek out other cans locally. Jared got it in Charlotte after all. 4.15

I'm a terrible bench mark and a nube. This can was placed in the freezer to do a power chill on Wednesday night during a bottle share with @Knapp85 & @PhineasMcClintock. Unfortunately I forgot about it and my wife discovered it last night and pulled it out. I'm not sure if the freezing of the can tainted anything but I gave it barely a (4). I would say it's worth at least a single can to try. (fell short on the nose which was surprising) Leaving a can in the freezer ...I'm obviously not very good at this ...
