I think we are relatively close in age so have had probably similar experiences.
I remember when I would drink lowenbrau or Heineken and would be considered snooty.
I've walked out of a few stores without buying something and it freaks them out a bit

This is just delicious. Possibly my all-time most enjoyable choc stout, and haven't seen it in a long while.

If you got nothing I want, I won't be dropping my cash on crap

I've narrowed down my preferred stores to the ones that carry beers I'm interested in. Chiding the customer for a lack of purchase is not the way to go. Maybe ask, why didn't you purchase anything and take it as constructive criticism instead of dissing the customer. Then maybe I'd go back in the future to see if things improved. Cheers!

Not to hark on it but I never understand, in any business as well as some personal interactions why people don't take the high road.
To your point, ask what I was looking for and take it as healthy criticism and if it keeps happening change your stock

Totally agree! I work in customer service and as such, my golden rule is to never make a customer feel stupid regardless of how stupid a request may seem.

Awesome either way! I hope you enjoy. Both are great.

Never know what folks know, but best source for Washington conditions is straight from the observatory.

EDIT: Oh, and they recently put the cams back on for free. Been subscriber-only for past couple years.

Im not trying to be overly nice but I sincerely respect that skill set.
I also have to answer questions all day and make sure no one feels stupid. Especially if they are being a bit ignorant

Pale, straw-yellow body; very slight haziness; beautiful carbonation, dense and slow rising; thick, billowy head, white and sticky; firm, spongy rings of foam step down the glass. Nice aroma; wheat and cracker; very faint note of citrus and other esters; slighter note of barnyard funk. Cloves and anise hit the taste buds; cereal grain malt presence in the background; wheat-like; moderate bitterness with a mild phenol edge. Beautiful mouthfeel; soft with a delicate sponginess; moderate, sublime overall dryness.

A most righteous witbier, with an interesting and satisfying blend of wheat graininess and softness with additional quiet fruitiness and a dry-like finish. Yes, a fantastically light yet filling beer...

You can't assume that they have the knowledge you have. I always try to educate my customers when I can. I do IT support so I run into a huge diversity of problems. I really think my customers appreciate my approach to solving their issues - I don't expect them to have my level of knowledge so I always try to explain what's going on to them. They appreciate it as far as I can tell.

Dot Ave, Dorchester Ave in Boston, a street I’m fairly familiar with. Mango, pineapple, a hint of lemon and a soft easy drinking slightly earthy DDH DIPA.
I had a check up today and the extremely nice NP asked how many drinks a week I had, which lead to a craft beer discussion, she is very knowledgeable and enjoys a good beer like the rest of us. The nicest and most caring individual I’ve had the pleasure meeting in a while.
