Having another Kölsch with a side of some left over Woodford Reserve I had in a bottle. Definitely will be my last for the night. This can art is based off of old cave paintings, I forgot which cave specifically. Cheers y'all!

I got a handful of the CD Mosaic versions from my guy Fred years ago (my guy, ha, RIP). My favorites of those are the Curtis Fuller Blue Note/UA Sessions, and The Complete Decca Studio Recordings of Louis Armstrong. I know you have a handful of others from this series as well. This Mingus set was one he never had, in either form. I have seen it several times elsewhere, but passed cause of price and condition. Though the store up the street from me, is Fred's spiritual successor as they were really good friends. So, if I can't get rare jazz from Fred, getting it from Vinal Edge (yeah its spelled right ) from Chuck is just as good  Chuck never gouges, just like Fred, and The Candid set cost a pretty penny, but it was the best deal I have seen, in near mint condition, so yeah that is an automatic buy from me...

This is where she sits now. I still have to get some maintenance handled, timing belt, water pump, Radiator hoses, then comes the chassis stuff like STi control arms and whiteline goodies. Tie rod ends, ball joints, sway bars etc. Then comes the turbo, inlet, exhaust. Nothing obnoxiously loud. Going tasteful.

Big brakes, sexy godspeed coilovers. Can't see those when I'm on the ground.

...yeah, I have a "handful" of Mosaic sets, too, mostly CD boxes, but some vinyl, including a spiffy Rhasaan Roland Kirk vinyl box set. I also have a few of their 3-CD Select sets (almost sent you the Randy Weston set - the first one I got had two of the same discs, but the seller was good enough to send me a correct complete set - I intended to burn the duplicate set and print out the case info, but got too lazy - maybe a later, surprise mailing to you if I get 'really' motivated)...anyway, I probably have about 20-25 of their box sets, nary a dud with any of them (although I do have my favorites)...

    look: 4.25 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4 | overall: 4

Very dark mahogany brown body, opaque when held up to the light; thick, rich head, dense and creamy texture, light tan hue; decent foam sheeting inside the glass. Woody, malty nose; even blend of caramel and cocoa notes. Big malt taste infused with a faintly astringent wood-like flavor; boozy; dark fruit character; tobacco. Heavy body overall; velvety; intense alcohol warmth.

I am pleasantly surprised at the head quality with this beer. It's rich and long lasting, The smell is good although a bit subdued, perhaps due to its relative age. The taste is big, bold, brassy, and ultimately enjoyable. The mouthfeel is soft yet full overall. The beer packs maybe a touch too much boozy quality, sacrificing some needed residual sugar body that may have added some more rounded character, yet it still is satisfying overall.
