Been at least a year since I’ve had a Heady. As magnificent as ever, not sure it’s more “dank,” as some have claimed. Thanks to @Roguer for the hookup. Cheers!

Tonight's Blind Battle Beer Tasting Lineup:

1) Paulaner Muncher Lager (4.8%): An original German helles with flavors of earthy honey and German Munich malt. A smooth finish.
versus
2) Weihenstephaner 1516 Kellerbier (5.6%): A kellerbier/zwickel from Germany with flavors of bread, Munich malts, and German yeast.. A bready, full mouthfeel.

3) La Dona La Reyna IPA (6.3%): An IPA from Minnesota with flavors of pinecones, dank herbs, and pine. Mild caramel malts. Largely stale and getting the cardboard here.
versus
4) Lagunitas StereoHopic V5 (7.2%): The next Lagunitas IPA in the series brewed with Eukanot and Strata hops for flavors of berry, peaches, grape and cherry.
(Both pairs correctly matched blind)

Winners:

2) Weihenstephaner 1516 Kellerbier: This one does the bready flavors well. A fantastic, full mouthfeel, yet still drinkable. Paulaner was great too as always.

4) Lagunitas StereoHopic V5: This one branches out a bit with some nice hop flavors of peaches, berries, grape, and cherry. Sort of a cherry BlowPop flavor. Not their best in the series, but a nice variation.

Some storms moving through later....really windy today!

While at Wooly Pig Farm Brewery Saturday, I got a qt growler of their newly tapped Honey Cream lager, as it is very tasty....while a guy was filling my little (Carton Brewing in NJ) growler, he comes over and says he chipped the top of the glass lip while filling, and then Jael (one of the owners) came over and gave me a new Wooly Pig qt growler and tells the guy to fill that up as well (n/c....sweet)....I filtered the beer out to catch any glass pieces (none found), and put the rest in a smaller swing top bottle after this pour.....great customer service! Love that place!
