Good Morning BAs. Starting today with a SNAPPY on this bright and sunny day.
Made it to Germany, but moving right along to Belgium tomorrow. Sipping on a nice one at the Frankfurt airport. Prost!
Wow, slow day at the virtual bar, eh?
Beating the heat with this tasty gose.....
Emma and I had a nice sail and swim (for me) yesterday afternoon - we may repeat that again today - it is 89 and heat index of 94 at 11;15 am
Thank you @DrOfGolf for todays thread. Glad I began today with this incredible beer. It's one of the best tasting beers I've ever had. Weihenstephaner Vitus Weizenbock. It is deluxe in every way. Happy Wednesday! Cheers Advocates!
More rain overnight, much welcomed.
Drinking the summer version of Project Dank from La Cumbre. A nice beer.
Making some seitan for tonight's dinner of "pork" fried rice
Cheers from Belfast.
...followed by a proper pint
VooDoo Ranger Agent 77 IPA from New Belgium.
One of my favorites when in Germany. This classic is rather unavailable here in the Netherlands.
Hope you find some nice beers in Belgium too (an time to enjoy them, when not on vacation).
Drinking another Normandy beer whereas I am not there at the moment.
It’s an IPA, and a very pleasant surprise:
Same shit, different asshole
I hate summer!
Thank you, sir!!
Did a bike ride this evening and now time for beer.
While at the beach, been watching feel good oceanic movies like Jaws and The Perfect Storm when recharging back in the room. Recharging includes refreshments, like this decent little number from Wilmington Brewing Company we picked up at The Tipsy Goat on the way down:
Nice to see so much beer from the other side of that thing in the background. Cheers all!!
Taft's Gavel Banger IPA. Sounds kinky doesn't it? Artwork looks like Wilford Brimley in a beery clawfoot bathtub havin' a barking pint/bangin' the daylights out of a gavel While they may not be making friends the easy way in the world of gavels, at 7% ABV 65 IBU, the beer is quite good. Smooth & clean. Cheers!
Well folks, a spring on my garage door has done did busted and I'm stuck here.
Seems as good an excuse as any to pour a delicious Fiddlehead, always found fresh around these parts.
A little porter makes the day. Reading about them right now in the Beer Bible as well...porters/stouts have an impressive record also historically.
I saw West Coast 2xIPA, I'm all in. Let's just call it a disappointment....enjoy what's in yer glass........
..........and fills yer ears........
........as a wee child growing up Saturday was my parents "date nite", they'd have dinner and cocktails and whatnot, when they returned, it was Harry Belafonte time, (my Mother just loved that guy), always 2-3 albums. So I'm surprised to see that Mr. Belafonte has been elected to the Rock'n Roll Hall of Fame along with Dolly Parton and Eminem.
Perhaps a name change and just call it the Music Hall of Fame. That being said, I plan to nominate Mr. Lawrence Welk and His Champagne Music Makers for next year, but alas, that may be subject for another thread on a different platform!
I think y’all gonna need a bigger beer.
Hope you have a great trip @Beersnake1 , looking forward to seeing more great European beers!
I like ordering Spaten here, is it better / different in Germany?
Slante to you Kevin aka @GrumpyGas , hope you also have a great trip.
Will be stepping into the virtual bar in a few hours, an Irish bar with authentic brogues, though only a wee bit down the road from home.
This morning’s breakfast beer on our balcony - Lokahi Pilsner, by Kohola Brewery, Lahaina, Maui, HI:
Not very good. Probably my last from this brewery…Gorgeous day shaping up here at Ka’anapali Beach, Cheers from Maui!
Nice choice! I shall join you with one of those sir... cheers!
My bottle has been in the fridge too long, dated 2021-05-19. At ~13 months age it's lost some pizazz but remains quite tasty despite.
When relatively fresh this is my hands-down overall favorite wheat beer of any wheat style. Remarkable stuff truly.
Nice! It is absolutely sumptuous! Cheers!
Skyscraper. Red Wine (barel aged) Quadrupel from Nøgne Ø (Norway).
Nice evening beer, but nothing special to be honest. Red wine and beer is not a great combination to me I guess.
Couldn't resist having another one at once
Will this suffice?
A family UNO game has broken out as this is the highest temperature day here at the beach
8-Bit Aleworks, in Avondale, AZ. A small brewery with creative brews. Good things here.
In your opinion, are you getting much from the wine or too much? The ones I have enjoyed bring a dark, tangy fruit note with maybe a hint of barrel and light tannin. However, most I’ve found don’t bring much wine character.
My guess is spirit barrels have the potential to produce better accent flavors with short aging where wine might require a bit more. I’m also sure there are many other factors (number of uses, time between uses, etc) that are in play. Anyone have insight as to how off base my guesses are?
Home early, long, draining week continues
Enjoying Old World from Tree House
Lovely Scotch Ale
Good afternoon, advocates. Watching the Blue Jays game while settling in w/ the King from Tree House. Cheers!
sierra nevada pale ale
Enjoying a Weyerbacher Sunday morning stout from my cellar. 01/25/16 bottle date. Still tasting great!
Surly Neon Pixels Hazy IPA. Lighter bodied and fruity. Cheers!
Good afternoon BA
I worked 21.5 hours yesterday and declined working today for overtime. Instead, I went to the grocery and beer store...
First time with this. I'm a fan. I may have a Cuba Libre in a minute before I have to quit and start hydrating for two more brutal days of work in 100+, but for now I'm feeling alright. Cheers all!
Russian River Row 2, Hill 56 - this one is a bit elusive:
Westlake/MacArthur Park Redline Station
Dark Apparition pairs well with the clouds of fentanyl and meth in the air
Garage door repaired, new springs. Lifting like a champ.
Blue Ribbon to celebrate!
