Happy birthday Dave - hope it's been a great day so far!
Happy 45th birthday - cheers!!!
Good afternoon BA and happy birthday to @GreenBayBA and @Blogjackets!
After work beer
Grilling spaghetti squash. Enjoying a Pernicious from Wicked Weed. Cheers!
Great right outa the can. A delish tasting beer fancy or farming. Very mellow. Cheers!
Rhinegeist Cloud Harvest Unfiltered Juicy IPA.
TH - Free To Roam - Oak conditioned Helles 5%
Very pleasant and easy to drink. Crisp bread notes, clean finish and a bit more body than your typical helles.
Banner day at Casa d'Animoul: removed & replaced undercounter lights, repaired exterior motion detector, & planted five hydrangeas... and, best part, only got yelled at twice.
I used love HD&R. I remember it a rather full-bodied and tasty brew. Good to see it again. Ocean Drive, Cherry Grove, Windy Hill? Sorry......
Only twice? Sounds like you are on a roll.
Beer with dinner.....yep
Back home with a Jai Alai on taco/tequila Thursday. I skirted a major thunderstorm getting home, 30-40 mph winds with limbs flying around....it was heat index 109 so it was bound to happen....
Happy birthday to @GreenBayBA !
Bone in the Throat from Root + Branch. I don't know what to say that I haven't already said. These guys are simply on another level. Didn't finish the last beer from Fox Farm. Didn't need to. Cheers!
I quite enjoyed my half of that HD&R as it was. And you are correct on your first guess this time.
Got a family member some Killian’s and since he’s not a big drinker, I figured I’d help out with a bottle or two.
Actually works pretty nice after the NoDa beer. Malts pair up although there’s no real bitter flavors to speak of here.
It’s been a frantic last few days at work and tomorrow’s not looking much better. A pint of Maibock at Bull n Bear Brewery is calming my frayed nerves. Cheers!
@Danmullens1, the new brewery in 'Stallis, Werscansin!
Just finished my first beach snorkel…enjoying a Big Swell IPA:
The surf at times was rough, but I saw lots of pretty fish and coral…Cheers from Hulopoe Beach, Lanai, HI!
Thank You 2022. An IPA brewed by Maine Beer Company.
Some chicken to go with that squash. Marinara and a salad waiting in the kitchen. Hamms. Cheers!
I knew that ocean looked familiar! I've spent a lot of time in that neck of the woods, particularly in high school when there was no N. Myrtle, only Myrtle Beach further south.
Tonight's Blind Battle Beer Tasting Lineup:
1) Surly’s Hell Lager (5.0%): A zwickel-style beer from Minnesota with strong lemonflower and bready flavors with light lemon notes. Surly yeast flavors and a smooth finish.
2) Summit Twin Pils (5.1%): A zwickel-style beer from Minnesota that is a newer version of the Keller Pils with flavors of grains, bread malts, yeast, and a dry, bitter, flowery finish.
3) Great Notion Aura IPA (7.5% canned 4/11/22): A NEIPA from Oregon with flavors of orange juice, pineapple, and mango. Sweaty, warm, and leans sweet.
4) Modist/Great Notion Gifts From Above (8.0% canned 4/?/22): A NEIPA from Minnesota & Oregon with Yakima, HBC 586, Citra and Sabro & flavors of green apple, lychee, melon, and berries.
(Both pairs correctly matched blind)
1) Surly Hell Lager: Picking the winner of my favorite two Minnesota lagers is tough. Surly Hell has a signature Surly yeast flavor with a smooth lemonflower flavor. Two of the best.
4) Gifts from Above: This one has some fantastic and unique hop flavors. Lots of berries, melon, and green apple. More melon as it warms. Not sure which hop is contributing to the unique flavor among the Yakima, HBC 586, Citra and Sabro. A definite green apple and melon flavor. Remarkable haze here.
Lone Pint Brewery -- The Jabberwocky
Imperial India pale ale
ABV: 8.5%; pouring temperature: 50 °F; canning data: 05/09/22
3.76/5 rDev -3.1%
look: 4 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 3.75
Nice honey colored body, clear; sparse carbonation; thick, frothy head, white and lasting. Faint, malty aroma with a touch of spiciness. Big malty, grain-like taste with a moderately heavy bitterness; earthy caramel sweetness; cardamom; peppery. Heavy body with a fine coarseness tickling the palate; thick and sticky; low-key alcohol warmth.
This is a nice, malt-forward imperial India pale. At about a month and a half in age, I wonder if some of the hop aroma and flavor may have disappeared, yet the beer still has some fine qualities overall.
...happy birthday, Micha!...
...and a happy birthday to you, too, Dave...!!!...
In the Charlotte airport on the way home, this is Mountain Candy from Sycamore Brewing. I could literally drink a gallon of this - exceptionally well done, IMHO.
Momac Skeeder Juice IPA
As @Clinto can confirm, when greeting guests in Wisconsin, it is customary to ask, "Jeet yet, er no?" When you are thirsty during gym class around Milwaukee, WI, you drink from a bubbler!
A bit hot out today. One beer with the sidekick.
Enjoying a 500 Pesos. Cheers y'all!
This batch of MC² is so disappointing. From earlier. I poured it out shortly after, can't believe I poured out some EQ. Floaters are completely suspended to they aren't falling.
Tonight's shot (wife is still a little under the weather, I'll pour later) with a really nice Sixpoint IPA.....listening to the last domino vinyl and loving it.....!
Sitra Achra from Brujos. This is a passion project from one of the head brewers at Great Notion. Very nicely done. Getting ready to watch the Yankees game. Peace...
Micah, this one is for you on your birthday. Remember how I used to always break out some obscure boy band stuff instead of rapping like you preferred? Much love, @GreenBayBA!
Fantastic evening for neighbor's fire pit. Trying out a freshie, canned 06/14. It's a new beer in their lineup and I have high expectations as the past few others I've tried from them have been top notch.
Spyglass - Quantum Ripple. NEDIPA with Galaxy, Citra, and Azacca.
I power washed my deck last week and me and my wife water sealed it today. No issues and no conflict , came out better then expected
It’s a rare day when things go well when we do a project together
