What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #3559

They are hard for me to find in Richmond. Occasionally a grocery store with a large beer selection may carry one from time to time. Then there is Total Wine but I have found that MBC stuff there seems old.

There is a small bottle shop by me though (near the University of Richmond). that carries a number of MBC brews. The owner/manager tells me he can sell as many as he buys. The bottle shop also has a half dozen different kegs for growler and crowler fills but I have not seen a MBC brew as a growler fill.

 

Unfortunately, just as suspected. No bottled on date and was a total messy malt bomb, I'm sure the brewer didn't intend it to be this way. The only bottle stamp was a Lot # and the bottle shop I bought it from I wouldn't put it past them because this beer was screamin' all the signs of a pretty old beer after it was opened. Rolled the dice and lost on this one.



Now this is a Pilsner!

I hate to drain pour a beer (I prefer to feed it to their worms in the compost pile) but sadly I have had to do this a few times. But considering the many different brews I have had over more years than I care to admit, the percentage of wasted beer has been very small.

Try as I may, sometimes I forget to look for the canned date or drink by date, and got burned with really old stuff. Many times there is not a date. I will not name the guilty parties but be careful with a “build your own six pack” offering.

 

Speaking of Adderral, it's the bad actors like them who make it so difficult and a pain in the butt for 'script refills [for those of us who legitimately, and medically need it to function and get it legally].

 

Oh trust me, I understand. A couple of people i work with have legit scripts and only take 10mg a day( 5mg in am and 5mg at dinner) while being surrounded by assholes that take 20-30mg ever couple hours cuz they need it "to work" . *facepalm*

Yeah, similar to me. I almost never buy beers at Total Wine, I find they are pretty pathetic when it comes to anything remotely close to "fresh" and the selection isn't really that great. They have good deals on Balcones Whiskey, so on the rare occasion I need a new bottle, I go there for convenience. The local bottle shop I go to often works with the independent distributor to get really fresh Maine bottles. Sometimes I got to wait a bit, but what you going to do.

 

That would not fly in Texas ha. Got to have AC!

I use to work in Scotland on and off, usually during the Summer, and it was like the Texas "Winter" ha. Obviously not this year...
