I keep saying I am going to spend a few days there when I go back home. The best I usually do is lunch or hitting a beer store

I was number 56 in the lottery, I enlisted in the Air Force instead of letting the army draft me. Worked in electronics as a radar tech for defensive fire control systems on B52's. That was sure better than toting a rifle in Nam. That war sucked, but all wars suck.

Is French Ale truly a style? Maybe it is but I've not heard of it before.

burial machete. Awesome wild saison. Nice head retention and light spotty soapy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big tart/sour lime, lemon, grapefruit, citrus peel/rind, green apple, white wine, hay, straw, grass, lacto/Brett funk, peppercorn, pine, oak, leather, wheat, cracker. Aromas are more fruity/juicy and barnyard, wonderful Brett profile. Moderate pine/rind bitter and peppery Brett spicy finish. Med high carb and light body. Fairly crisp/ clean finishing. Balanced grainy malt, sticky/resin hops, and oak tang/tannins. Lingering acid/tannin drying with mild astringency. Very light and refreshing. Zero warmth of 4%. Wish it was less bitter, but the Brett/lacto profile was on point all the way. 4.15

Spent the day down in Hilo. I went to the local museum and one of the 2 breweries in town; and Mrs. Z spent the day shopping. We then had a nice lunch at a place called Pineapples. Now home drinking a Dankful:

Burial enlightened aren't we all. Awesome hazy ipa. Great head retention and soapy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, blueberry, wood, peppercorn, onion, mint, citrus rind, pine, wheat, cracker, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Moderate pine/rind/oniony bitter finish. Medium carbonation and body. Balanced bready/grainy malt and sticky/resin/rindy hops mouthfeel. Long resinous drying finish. Light astringency. Insanely dank and earthy profile of mosaic, the onion note was interesting, but its very drinkable despite aggressive tendency. Always love mosaic. 4.13

Moved on to this one from SN. I think this the first time I've had BA Narwhal since they've released it in cans. I'm digging it, especially once it has warmed up. Has a nice mouthfeel to it as well. And at ~$18 for 4x16oz cans, this is a relative bargain. Cheers all!

Burial fall of the damned 2022. Fantastic sour red. Minimal head retention and lacing. Deep ruby purple color. Aromas and flavors of big sour blackberry, marionberry, fruit skin/seed, red wine, green apple, raisin, fig, plum, balsamic vinegar, leather, oak, pepper, lacto/Brett funk, wheat, toast, light roast, hay, straw, grass. Slight oaken vanilla. Medium tart/sour fruit, tangy/spicy Brett finish. Medium plus carb and body. Balanced grainy malt, lactic acid, and oak tang/tannic mouthfeel. Mild pucker/astringency.
