I don't know why, but I grabbed him yesterday and made my wife take this picture of me and him, telling her, this is to remember him with. Next day, I find him dead, WTF?!

Brevard is beautiful. At the foot of the huge Appalachian escarpment leading up past innumerable gorgeous waterfalls to the very high mountains, and Cashiers and Highlands. It is a vast and wonderful area (Pisgah National Forest) not too far southwest of Asheville. Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, and North Carolina are all visible from nearby promontories. It is a beautiful part of Earth....She should like the place.

You are correct. College is a whole new gig. Son-in-law’s sister was a high school lacrosse standout. She had a hard time though adjusting when she went to college. Had a lacrosse scholarship.

Life turned out fine for her. Saw her yesterday for the first time in years (at daughters baby shower). Late twenties. Engaged to a great guy.

 

It was amazing!

 

Condolences. We lost our Addie a couple of years ago after 19 years. Hard on the soul. Luckily she had fortified our souls for so many years.

 

Mike, in absence of a beer pic lately, we all know you opened a bottle of wine. You are just too embarrassed to admit it. I plead the fifth. Better yet, I plead insanity.

Got a sh**it load of barbecue left from yesterday. I will make a serious dent in it tonight. Need some coleslaw though.

 

Sorry to hear that bro, it sucks. I'd be outback tonight with NVG's looking for something to get even with. Hopefully in time you can rescue a really sad pet from a shelter.....

 

Cheers to your buddy Dinya, it’s tough losing a loved one that way. I can relate to your pain, we lost a cat,Teddie, some years back to an animal, we were really attached to each other. I wanted to shoot every coyote on the face of the earth. Sorry for your loss.

 

Sort of - I cleaned out Total Wine, but there's none available anywhere else. I talked with the distributor and asked why there's none around all of a sudden and he said he wasn't sure but said he knew they had a couple of bad batches. CBC didn't respond to my email. Once I finish what I have I don't know if there will be more available. It's been over a month since my local has had any in stock and that has never happened before. Cheers!

 

I haven't had some juice in a while. Figured it was time.

In 1969 college basketball was a different world from high school. I had grown up playing against Bob McAdoo and Pete Maravich (at summer camps) and had no illusions. I could shoot from good range and played good defense, so I played. But all of these guys were excellent athletes and I was part of the best team that I was ever a member of. It was a great experience.

I miss my Maine Beer Company IPAs tonight. Just flat ran out last night. Been too busy today and yesterday to restock. Yes, and too fu**ing lazy to drive to the local bottle shop that stocks a lot of them.

For those in MA, they’re not cheap, but damn the Prime Delmonico at Market Basket has proven its worth to me two grills in a row. Salted and peppered while coming up to room temp. Direct heat for 6 minutes at high on the Weber Genesis and then indirect for 8 minutes. Letting it rest an equal time. Damn good.

 

I drink Wormtown all the time, and they make excellent beers, but Flower Child IPA is totally different and imho is the better beer. Hell, I'd put it up against any classic IPA available.

My problem with Wormtown is that they only do 16 oz cans and honestly, I'm tired of 16 oz cans - I much prefer 12 oz cans.
