    And it screams Chicago. And it screams the craziness of a family business. And it is relatable to many high stress work places where you know everyone is f’ed, even though they don’t deserve it.

    look: 4.25 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 4 | feel: 4 | overall: 4

    Clear amber body; sparse carbonation yet thick, sticky, white head. Malty, spicy nose. Big malt backbone taste with a zesty, spicy hop presence; light alcohol note; earthy sweetness; moderate hop bitterness. Heavy body; mildly coarse on the palate; some alcohol heat.

    This is another beer that is probably past its prime. It's not really juicy at this stage, but still is tasty enough and has some great eye appeal. It does ooze double IPA character.

    ...probably why I love the high ABV dark beers, too, although during the warmer days (almost a year-round thing now - :sunglasses:) I get on a big lager / pilsner kick...then, too, with the recent BA online kölsch tasting, I've been hunting down and generally enjoying that style as well...

    ...I have a cousin in Chadds Ford, PA, an arborist, and his work yard is piled high with ash trees that had to go even if the trees looked okay for a bit...a nasty critter the emerald ash borer...

    I'm doing a week long group bicycle tour of the Finger Lakes in New York. We are camping and internet is sketchy, so I don't have much opportunity to do social media. Our support folks make beer runs. I have been drinking a lot of Brooklyn Brewing Summer Ale Sunny Pale Ale, and Genessee Ruby Red Kölsch. Both good low ABV summer beers.

    Prison City Brewing came out to our campsite in Auburn and I got to enjoy some Mass Riot.
