It is staged for sure. Most of those guys have lines at legal distilleries and are being paid by Discovery channel. In other words they sold out, not real moonshiners.

That clip probably put a lot of attention on him. He was going on about that being the last run but it obviously wasnt. The operation he had going was pretty big when he got caught especially for a elderly person. From what I've read he would sell liquor to anyone. Seemed like he just wanted everyone to have a taste of quality liquor.

 

These guys are ready to meet the air fryer. Has anyone ever cooked lobster tails this way? Yes that is wine but….hey I got a Devils Backbone Vienna Lager chilling to have with the sea creatures.

I could tell you stories about when I was a state auditor in Virginia back in the mid 1970’s. There were a lot of dry counties back then, especially in the western part of the state, so moonshine was the go to.

The state ABC published a report each year about the number of stills busted and the locations. Even though I was in charge of the statewide ABC audit for three years (the max allowed until they pulled you off) I thankfully never had to get involved with still busting. I probably would have quit if I was made to.

 

Damn! I need some of those in my life.

It’ was a good day! I would like to share some good news. It’s been a year since my wife went through a stem cell transplant and two years of treatment since being diagnosed with cancer. We had a follow up appointment with the cancer specialist today. Everything looks good and she is well. I appreciate beeradvocate and everyone here on WBAYDN. It’s been a good outlet for me during stressful times. Cheers BA’s!
