Good morning all and happy Wednesday.

This morning we drove to the North of France and its coast more specifically to enjoy some days under hot temps again and very much sunny weather.

Stopped at the bar for a 3 monts but a lighter one than usual. This one is only 6,5% as opposed to the Bière de Garde base beer from them at 8,5%.

About two hours ago, N. Asked me to take a photo on the beach while she was striking a pose:

After all if y’all can handle @beergoot shower beer photos I’m sure you can take this one.

    Cheers!

Good Morning BAs and a big Thank You to @Shanex for starting us off today and for sharing the photo of your girl.
Anyway, starting the day with my cups of coffee and this Fordham and Dominion "Double-D" IPA brewed locally here in Dover.

Thanks for opening today @Shanex ! I hope you and the misses have a great time, looks and sounds as though you are off to a great start.

Trying to get to a few more IPAs before my trip Las Vegas for just under two weeks. This one a Chicago born and brewed classic.

Nearly 10 weeks old, but still at about 90% hoppiness due to refrigeration.

Question for Maine Beer Experts - I have a Maine Pepper bottled on 7/12/22 and refrigerated. Should that hold up well until the end of August, or should I crack open by Saturday to avoid a drop-off. It's a new to me beer, and I mostly drink Maine beers on draft, so not sure how they generally hold up. @vabeerguy

The beer has to be fresher than my musical selections.

    And... back from the trail.
5 miles, easy, great sky this morning at day-break and sunrise. Still working the grind.

    Now chillin' with another NA.
Trying really hard to be good and stay away from the real sauce during this 10 day taper...

    Cheers!

Post run beer is hitting the spot nicely. I enjoy this 1 more than I enjoyed their Nelson South Pacific lager. Which I still enjoyed it as well.

I have had a few Maine Beer Company IPAs and pale ales that were almost three months old and tasted fine. They were refrigerated.

...although a rather misleading headline, I think this ultra-marathoner has the right idea of starting and ending his 130 mile run with a pint of Guinness --

Thirsty Botanist IPA, from Boothbay Craft Brewing (Maine).

This afternoon from a can I bought a couple of months ago.

Bottom line: a just about perfect dry hopped IPA.

Appearance is a little deceptive. There’s not much ‘hazy’ about it. A rich dark golden color, but clear (unless you pour out the bit of yeast dregs at the bottom on the can, which does make it moderately ‘hazy’ and noticeably increases the ‘juicy’ flavors).

Smell is alluring, of dark tropical fruits, stone fruit, some kiwi, even plum (!). A surprising and pleasant smell of honey!

Taste is amazing. Rich, luscious, follows the smell, stone fruit, plum, and honey but without being ‘sweet.’ It’s juicy but isn’t a juice bomb like Blue Comet. I can’t recall ever tasting a beer that was able to pull this off. Bitterness is background and subdued. This is neither a juice bomb, nor like a standard ‘balanced’ juicy plus bitter IPA. It’s unique.

Feel is rich, luscious, very full mouthfeel in a very good way. This is a full-bodied, full flavored juicy beer without being sweet or cloying.

Boothbay knocked it out of the park with this one.

Good afternoon, advocates. Settling in w/ a pint of Perpetual straight from the can (my preference). This is my favorite offering from Tröegs. I'll take it over Nimble Giant and Nugget Nectar any day of the week. Years ago, I would have scoffed at the idea of this over Nugget Nectar, but Perpetual is way more consistent. It always tastes the same. Glorious. Cheers!

Up next is Modestman's original flagship - Center of Attention.

I'm not a much of Mosaic fan, and that might be why this doesn't compare to their more recent offerings but it's still a pretty darn good beer.

And now for a completely ridiculous, absurd, and nigh-inexcusable rant about lake life: I have too many friends with boats! Do not read if you actually work hard for a living and/or have limited leisure time!

Summertime is by far the most difficult season for me to stay in good shape. I am blessed to live in an excellent neighborhood with a private beach and a whole bunch of great peeps/households. But, if we aren't on the beach we're on someone's boat. Sunset cruise this evening on tap for the umpteenth day in a row. Who/why could anyone complain about such great things?...Leave that to me... who's next race is a mere 38 days approaching. It's a fun 24hr ~200mi relay event across NH from the mountains to the seashore I've done many times, so nothing serious or competitive, but I still need to pull myself together to run 20+ miles at a reasonable pace, and let's just say I've been anti-training!

Lmao @myself and my complete lack of discipline. Cheers!

It is neither, but agreed both are fantastic local-ish options!
