What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #3586

Went on down to the blue moon brewery in RiNo Denver and whadda ya know I'm having a Blue Moon

 

Cheers BA! Got a 12 pack of Brickstone American Pale Ales there flagship beer to get through. A brewery out of Bourbonnais Illinois

 

My buddy was kind enough to split the can with me since I've never had this one before.

Loving to see a craft brand embrace Malt Liquor. Founders DKML is the only one I’ve come across before.

The only new to me beer on the board, my first stout from this brewery.

Lovelady Stout



Brewer Notes: 16 oz nonic glass pour, 7.3% 45 IBU.

Appearance: Pitch black caramel base, tan head quickly leaves a ring above the glass. 4.0

Aroma: Sweat malt and caramel, pumpernickel. Works well. 3.75

Taste: Consistent with the aroma, nice roast malt leads, very nice. Getting a nice hops presence, nice is a solid straight forward stout, digging it. 4.0

Mouthfeel: Lightly dry and bitter, edges sweet with the malt but the Centennial hops try to keep this in check. Light and easy body, ABV asserts its authority as this is stronger than most non BA stouts, but not overpowering. Light sweetness lingers on the finish. 4.5

Overall: This is a solid stout, somewhat leans on an older school hoppy somewhat bitter, but sweetness holds its ground. Definitely one I’d order next time in town. 4.25

Trying to pace myself, Mohave Brewery opens at 4 PST so hoping a cask or two is on hand.

 

Glad you loved it. If you haven’t reviewed it yet, I’ve seen detailed reviews less useful than “This one was god damned great.”

A beer is either true to style and good or bad

This one was a winner and i would drink again anytime .

I shouldbhqve noted that was a collab between Boston Beer and Narragansett.
Quite interesting to see BB step way out of their box. Narrgansett has already doing that thanks to Lee Lord fairly new brewer. They are doing their traditional stuff plus alot of IPAs. Cool.

 

Found this tasty Festbier in pint cans - works for me after a long afternoon of boat work.....

Actually - I meant to say Thing originally but I said Cousin Itt. I meant if you were Thing, how would you open and pour a beer? I say you can't.

This works really well on a beautiful summer day in Northern Indiana.
