...thanks...it's been years since either one of us were there...I was really hoping to hear some elk bugling (or seeing elk), but we had mice, turkey (and other birds), and mule dear along with good weather, so other than an achy hip (must be the hill climbing - ), the beer analgesic treatment is making that all a dim yet comfortable memory...truly, Mueller State Park is a small gem (amongst many) in Colorado...I'm glad some of my pictures might give people a sense of the place...geez, it was only 15-20 years ago when I used to make this hike yearly - my annual 'run with the elk'...an artificial knee kind of precludes the running part, but Mrs. BG and I can still hike the crap out of the place...

 

Love the pics! Looks like you are having fun. We will have to hike it whenever I fly in, as long as the elevation doesn't exhaust me

Good evening, all! It's an Ohio pairing tonight. I'm drinking North High (Columbus) Hazy Pale with a Tony Packo's (Toledo) Hungarian Hot Dog with onions, sauerkraut, and mustard. This beer is pretty slammable for a "non-session" pale (5.8% ABV). I also have a pretty fresh Zombie Dust on hand, which I'll save for another day. And a Grisette and some Icelandic wee heavy. It was a profitable beer run. Cheers!

That said, had a good day today. Wife spent most of the day with youngest daughter and her 3 week old baby because son-in-law was out of town on business. I was there for a few hours doing what little I could do.

Texting with youngest sister. Seems that their Social Security is not able to pay the bills. She and brother-in-law (both late 60’s) have to go back to work.

Just messing with you my friend. I planned to go to Veil tonight for their weekly release but the website did not Veil released anything today.

 

Busy Tuesday, more packaging work. Read a short story: Bear Trap by Alan E. Nourse. Good government espionage. Then almost finished The Land That Time Forgot by Edgar Rice Burroughs, which is great. Will read the whole Caspak series for sure.

Steg had a vet appointment after doing a steroid run of treatment, but it was not meant to be a long term solution; so we may be just doing hydrolyzed protein food if nothing else works to stop the stomach inflammation to pretty much any dry food. Everyone loves his chill attitude and floppy ear at the clinic.


Finished off the Sunday steak dinner last night and passed out after work. Julia made the famous sausage tortellini tonight.




Robert the Bruce packaged on 1/19/19. Another random closet find. It tastes excellent. I reviewed in 2013, not had it much since, but definitely will get more FFF in Ohio holidays.


I was vibing to this in traffic going to work. Always a classic.

 

First time at Upshift Brewing in Los Angeles. Pretty solid!
