    Lunch prep beer - Fremont’s “Coconut Cacao Barrel Aged Dark Star” (2022), a blend of 24, 18, 12 and 8 months old base; add coconut, Cacao and oats. Hops = Columbus, Willamette and Cascade. Aged 7 - 12 months in KY bourbon barrels…

    Bottled February 2022. Poured at 54°. Fast fizzy reddish tan head immediately vanishes leaving no cap retention, ring, nor lace; medium legs on swirl. Coconut nose front and center followed by bourbon, chocolate and plenty of bourbon in the retro nasal. Taste is sweet coconut, bourbon and chocolate; oaky vanilla middle; coconut water with chocolate finish. Medium body, not adjuncty; moderate minus carbonation; surprisingly little warmth from 13.5% abv. Overall, I love coconut stouts and this beer does not disappoint - let’s start with decadent!, tons of chocolate and boozy bourbon, and why I signed on - Coconut!; well balanced and satisfied several layers of flavors - Bourbon, Coconut and Chocolate; A Mounds candy bar soaked in Bourbon delish!

    Unrelated to that specific song....Nebraska is his best album.

    Nobody in my friend group likes him with comments like "it sounds like he has to use the bathroom when he sings" but I have a soft spot

    I was lucky enough to snag several of their offerings. One of my favorite breweries, for sure. They don't distro here, but they do in GA. :sunglasses:

    Glad I bought a single of this, as it's not really to my taste (has a kind of fruity bong water quality to it) - really enjoyed their previous two seasonals, but will stick with Swami's from October - December.

    Begyle Coffee Tough Guy coffee brown... this beer's adventure: I went to a wedding in Chicago appx one month ago, and picked up a 4 pack of this at the downtown Binnys. I sent this home with my BIL, who was driving and generally doing a northern US tour. I finally got the remainder of my 4 pack back last night at a local family function.

    Somewhat surprisingly I have never had a beer from Love City before (at least as far as I can remember). Here's their version of a märzen and it's actually pretty good.
