Taste off! New Holland The Poet Stout vs. Wolaver Organic Oatmeal Stout
Poet edges out the win! Both are a must try. Great finish to a great day. Perfect October beers.
Tasted off Wolaver Oatmeal stout - edged into winners circle!

    THE POET NOTES: 4.33

Appearance: Pours a black body with a massive head that lasts all the way down! Good. And Laces the glass top to bottom. Near perfect pour.

Smell: Laid back and Wolaver wins this dept. It's chocolate shop, but subtle w/ creamy, nutty on top of oat cereal. Upon warming, gets better with licorice and dark candy.

Taste: Starts with inviting malt laced with semi-sweet chocolate, caramel, and sweet coffee followed by some toasty, nutty oats. Faint herbal, earthy hops blend bitter with the sweet. Nice finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied, carbonation w a soft, smooth mouthfeel and dreamy finish. A kiss!

Drinkability: As good as American stout gets and it proves you dont have to add chocolate, flavors, fruit, or alcohol to make great stout. A must try stout.

Got home and enjoyed these great beers, in this order no less..

Chased a bird that flew in the house when my wife had the back doors of the house open since it's so nice and cool out these days!
Obligatory Jai Alai, since I can say it's now something I can get locally. Thank goodness, best citrus note of most IPA's out there.

Decided to pretend summer was still here and drink my last Gose from Westbrook. These beer cans have holes in the bottom. I don't think I slug a beer back from the can so fast, so easy and then pick it up and wonder why the fuck it's so light. Be jelly if you can't/haven't had this beer. White whalez yo!

Decided to go for this.. I'm gonna reload on this 4 pack this weekend, so decided to finish it off. Priced right, taste nice, and it's a winnar. Victory Dirtwolf
    [IMG]

And now, the night cap I'm finishing at 9:30 roughly that I started at a bit past 8. Enjoyed it after dinner, on the back porch with my wife, dogs, and a nice fire in the chiminea. Left the twin heathens in the house to grunt at each other( 7week old twin future drinking buddies).. Thirsty Dog BA Wulver.. Damn nice beer, wish it had the barrel note that Backwoods has, but ehh.. However it's smooth as silk, which BB aint'.
