Busy last few days....getting into the weekend with a 2022 Big Foot.

Kicking off the weekend with this New Belgium Voodoo Ranger Hop Raider IPA. Classic piney IPA.

Tonight’s Blind Battle Beer Tasting Lineup:

1) Deschutes Jubelale (6.7%): A Winter Warmer from Oregon that has flavors of toasted cocoa, roasted pine, cinnamon, and bread spice. A bitter finish.

2) Breckenridge Christmas Ale (7.1%): A Winter Warmer from Colorado with flavors of brown bread, molasses, brown sugar. Clean and leans dry.
versus
3) Bells’ Christmas Ale (7.5%): A Scotch ale from Michigan with flavors of smooth caramel, brown sugar, maple syrup, molasses, and booze. Sweet.

4) Equilibrium Hubble Palate (8.0% canned 8/10/22): A NEIPA from NY with flavors of tart grapefruit citrus, mango flesh, pineapple with some tart and funky yeast.

5) Equilibrium To Space We Go (8.0% canned 5/19/22): A NEIPA from NY with Mosaic and Strata for flavors of green mango skins and mango flesh and tropical pineapple. Sweet.

Winners:

1) Deschutes Jubelale: This one has impressed me more than previous years. It has a toasted cocoa and roasty, bitter pine note to it. Holiday ales sure seem to vary widely by taste and style. I think this one hits just right. Sort of like a darker and slightly roasty version of Celebration.

5) Equilibrium To Space We Go: Older, but one of my favorites from EQ. Shows the Strata hole well with tons of green mango skin and flesh. Fantastic stuff from Equilibrium, and digging the beer names.
