Double Yellow Rose DIPA - Lone Pint Brewery

 

We are covered in snow right now, so a little Spanish beer is the right thing.

 

Well, time to rate a new brew. This calls for Operation Aztec Boo Boo Cluster.
Stone Delicious DIPA. 9.4% ABV. As a lover of lemon drop tastes, I know I'll like it even B4 trying it but the question is: How is it within its style? Let's find out shall we? A few gentle bottle rolls to get the goodies from the bottom. Tuff to get a decent pic of the label. Wow. It's really malty. Cool. Cheers!

Interesting day today - I was pretty impressed with the VA health care, they don't mess around. I already have an appointment tomorrow with the audiologist, and hearing aids are covered 100%. I had a hearing test at least 10 years ago and was told then that I was a candidate for hearing aids because of a severe high frequency hearing loss.

I also mentioned how my neck has been bothering me from working on two monitors all day and they're setting up PT with a chiropractor - again, all covered by the VA. They also did lab work on the spot to get a baseline. should have signed up a long time ago. So now I'm relaxing with a St. Bernardus Wit - I chose this one due to the lower ABV of 5.5%.

 

Did you get a St. Bernardus gift pack? If I'm not mistaken you lost your last St. Bernardus glass most recently right? I remember it was Belgium for sure.

The dubbel is my favorite. Cheers!

 

New local chain in town. Place is always packed, looks great, but it has average local beers, and also “house beers,” aka contract brewed stuff on tap. Might come back to try the food, but beer wise it’s a bust. The only good beer on tap - Topa Topa Chief Peak IPA:

 

How is that one I've been apprehensive to try it...love the juicy haze version

 

I did - just to get another glass - good memory my friend!! I also got some Willetized as well. $12.99 a 4 pack, vs $38 a 4 pack of BCBS - kind of a no brainer I think. Total Wine is like 5 minutes from the VA building so I had to stop in. Thinking about doing a bowl later this evening ...

 

Enjoying Munkle Brewing's Five Branches Biere de Garde. Probably should have had this on Veteran's Day as there is an interesting back story: the brewer's grandfather, J. Douglas Donahue served in all five branches of the U.S. military (prior to the creation of the Space Force). I salute you for your service sir! Oh, and by the way the beer is pretty solid with notes of pear and apple, nice job by the brewing team!
