Oh my...look (figuratively anyway) what I found lurking on the beer shelf...Founders Breakfast Stout bottled 12/12/2012. So why not? It is thirty degrees out, enough justification to might finally try this stuff. Pretty smooth, nice but somewhat generic coffee flavor, semi-sweet chocolate that puts a pleasant bitterness on the back of the taste, very warming, but the alcohol doesn't burn. I think I could like this...smooth as an oatmeal stout oughta be.

Thanks, she was 13 years old, but age never makes anything easier.

Its crazy how close we can become to animals, I cried when I had to put my dog down back in Sept. We just got a different one a couple weeks ago, he will never replace Chewy(RIP), but he is pretty awesome. I hope you are able to find a new friend when you are ready.Sorry for your loss.

Thanks again, it is crazy. I have another dog, but she is getting up there in age too. I'll have another pet in the future, just further down the road when I'm read to share that connection again.

Just had one a week or so ago and it is really aging nicely. I enjoy the tartness it has developed, as I remember the fresh stuff being a bit too sweet for my liking. Or maybe I just misremember what it used to taste like.

Three new beers to me. Avery and Dale's are pretty darn good. The Anti-Hero just kills it. Love at first sip. And, yes, I thought about the box they gave me to carry it out....I lived.

    Cheers!

She had a possibly noncancerous tumor and a possible dislocated shoulder. My parents and I weren't sure if it was an actual shoulder injury or arthritis. Nonetheless she was suffering and it was more heartbreaking to see her suffer. It was for the best. She was 13 years old after all. Thanks for the response though it's appreciated.

That's about how my last one went. About 3 years ago she has a cyst that had been steadily growing and becoming more painful(lifelone thing, had it removed but never gone) and with the arthritis she could barley stand. It was real tough, on her last night my brother and I hung out and got swasted with her passing out on the kitchen floor.

and right now I'm working on this

Wow, that's rough, I am definitely glad all I had to see was a limp. I don't know if I could handle anything more than that. I'm 23 and she's been in my house since I was 10-11 so having a dog for more than half my life was awesome. Losing her is extremely hard. Cysts and tumors are devastating and can signal the end. Sorry to hear about your loss. I know our pets are in a better place.

Loved the anti-Hero when I was visiting in September for Riot Fest. Nothing like craft in the street at 10 in the morning in Chicago.

I bought this beer in December of 2011. One of the first beers I bought after figuring out the craft beer was something more a beverage I'd order at a bar. It was something I could collect, trade, etc. I'm sure this one didn't need to sit as long as it did, but it's still tastey.

    Cheers!
