    The evening sky is 100% awash in fluffy grey and white clouds. We received nary a drop of forecasted precipitation yesterday or today. The temp is 60° and the wind stout and constant. Another beer from my bracket bust holdings - SNPA:

    Next up (and not my last) is Barrel-Aged Fluffaluffagus from White Elm. An imperial marshmallow stout aged in bourbon barrels. The smell is insane! Cheers!

    Having MHL out of the bottle, since I usually grab cans, apart from the rare pony (7oz) bottle I'll grab for laughs, and have never drank MHL out of a 12oz bottle. One time I got a single of MGD in a bottle and it stank of skunk shit so I've avoided MHL bottles, even though I like the beer, and when someone in the Schlitz thread said MHL specifically in bottles was their replacement suggestion I felt like I had to try it.

    There is a bit of a funk, but I don't think 6 packs sit nearly as long as singles, so it's decently malty, but there is a slight skunk on the nose, although some people probably prefer ot that way.

    look: 4 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 3.5

    All factors with this beer lead me to see this as more of a hoppy lager of some sort, not an India pale ale. Hop presence in the taste, other than bitterness, and aroma lay low in the background. If this were a lager of some sort, it would rate much higher in my book, but I just don't get the IPA aspect of this beer.

    ... @eppCOS pretty much summed this one up as having pilsner/IPA qualities...it's actually a decent beer, but as an clear IPA, this one just doesn't come close to and English or American IPA that one would likely think of for the style...

    Fruits of Endor, a Fruited Kettle Sour from Estonian brewery Pühaste (8%).

    It's simply not a Gose, even though the salt does actually come through here a bit heavy-handed while the vanilla stays very much in the background, which I don't personally mind that much. Quite vibrant, intense notes of tropical fruit and red berries, with a good tartness.

    Yes, brother! And cheers on indulging in a Black IPA. I had one recently from Societe & Moonlight. Stellar. I ran 2.3 miles today, sir. I realize that's a jog for you, but I felt great. I haven't found (or even attempted to find) a tennis partner in Cali yet, so I needed this in the worst way. Going for another run tomorrow. Cheers!
