Rip Rap Deep Berth Belgian strong golden ale

 

Ommegang All Hallows Treat Imperial Stout, 7.6% ABV. Pours black with a slight head that dissipated quickly. Nose is slight peanut butter and chocolate. Taste follows, slightly sweet, moderately bitter. Decent mouthfeel, overall very good.

I think this was my first true coffee stout, I do miss some Manhattan Project beers.

Joining in on what seems to be a stout heavy day, thinking it'll make my day better.

Heyoooo BAs! Thanx @Shanex for the thread. Soaked to the bone from pushin' wood and I'm finally freed up from drums 'till tmrw and muddy arbor work tho I strangely enjoy both. Had a bonfire goin' for 3 nights to beat back the brush. Had a couple of beers...ya think? Just now cut up some big logs and everything in that area smells like smoke so it seems that this brew will be fitting: Oliphant Swamp Thing Smoked Wee Heavy. It has peat smoke wafting in & out of its shop. Awesome malty cereal grain goodness at 9%ABV. And on a side note I just had an ah ha moment of taste from this that reminds me of Lagunitas Hairy Eyeball but lighter & smoky. I miss that beer. Cheers folks! Keep on chooglin'!!

 

In the Admiral’s Club in Terminal E of the DFW airport, they keep this on hand (for a charge, which I gladly pay) and it’s fresh (best by 5/03/23). What a magnificent beer this is.

 

Little reading and a new brew to me this afternoon. Circe in the back seems to approve

Fun time, good beer and food at the pub…home now drinking a gem from Other Half - All Citrus Everything:



Hazy deep gold with some clarity under frothy white foam; excellent long lasting, still present cap retention; medium heavy bands of sticky lace with lots of soap suds. Slightly dank lemon peel nose. Orange and mild bitter lemon peel up front; tangerine as beer warms; firm malt base. Medium body; not full nor fluffy, not even juicy; medium carbonation; no warmth from 8.5% abv; no astringency. Overall an excellent “Hazy Lite”; tastes like an Other Half, this one with clean citrus and a little bitterness; so easy drinking I could drink two in a row.

After 1/2 hour+ post pour, look at the full cap retention, no swirling it around, just normal drinking - on a DIPA!:
