Hello mates! Thanks again @RaulMondesi for today's thread. You're on a roll brother! I finally bashed far enuf back into my diamond mine beer fridge that a trip to the beer store was needed. Oh lookie! A Lager glass! SN Summerfest fits right in there. Damn nice beer isn't it? And there's that distinctive SN yeast lurking in the back. Cheers!!

First stop as always, a mostly peaceful Woodman’s in Kenosha.



Second stop, hitting the second of two Central Waters taproom locations (Amherst visit in August 2019). First up, a 25th Anniversary Beer.



Twenty Five Elijah Craig Bourbon Barrel



Brewery Notes: $8 5 oz draft served in a steamed tulip glass.

This label used Elijah Craig barrels, which had bourbon aging in them for just shy of 19 years! Elijah Craig barrels have been a staple in our program for decades now. The majority of our bourbon barrel aging program spends time in 12 year Elijah Craig barrels, and we were extremely pleased to have 18 year Elijah Craig barrels become available to us (you'll actually see these barrels show up in another release later this year)!

Appearance: Pitch black base, creamy bubbly head tan white head dissipates quickly, leaving a ring around the glass 4.0

Aroma: Glorious bourbon leads, smokey, strong, wonderful. Ten minutes of warming toward proper temperature yields a nice sweet and roast malt mix. 4.50

Taste: Consistent with the aroma, bourbon hot army first,, smooths out as this continues to warm. Lingering beneath is a nice fudge lingering underneath. Caramel sweetness balanced nicely by the bourbon. Excellent. 4.5

Mouthfeel: Creamy and medium body, strong but not overly. Sweetness wins but nice blend. Caramel lingers on the finish nicely. 4.5

Overall: This is an excellent blend, the bourbon up front and excellent, nice caramel malt base, thicker than the typical CW stout. Outstanding, taking a bottle to share with my brothers. 4.5

Trying to wind things down early today. Enjoying a Blackberry Farm Harvest Farmhouse Ale. BF makes some of my favorite Saisons. Which is a real bummer because I have a lot of trouble finding them near me. Real disappointing. This is actually supposed to be a fall Saison but it works anytime of year. Love it. Cheers all!

A tidbit of history today: The Rolling Stones recorded "Satisfaction" on today's date back in 1965, the year I was born and I figure if I have enuf SN Summerfest brews I absolutely will find a shorter route to India....
