Hope you have a chance to park and appreciate the Badlands traveling East @DoctorZombies . Cashed my AB Rebate for Chinese this afternoon, Orange Chicken being the main course. Hoping the Stanley Cup Luck continues with another West Coast pour into my Las Vegas Tenaya Creek Shaker Pint Glass.

Busy day ahead between the White Sox Double Header, the aforementioned NHL Stanley Cup Game 3 and a board meeting which will likely include a Special Assessment I'm sure everyone will jump for joy about.

Funny how the glass with the crayons in it would actually be a better drinky vessel in my world. Ha! I like a wide mouth jar. Tip top!!

I'm a sucker for mixed 12 packs, I end up with many mediocre beers like this one.

On my way to Ohio a couple of weeks ago, I saw a six-pack of Rhinegeist Hustle someplace. I think it was in Kentucky. I didn't get it, figuring I could pick some up before heading home the following week. I never saw it again. I really wanted this because I thought it would make a great pic with my Reds glass and Pete Rose Wheaties box. I was a huge fan of the Big Red Machine back in the day, and would travel to Cincy (from C-bus) several times a year for Reds games. Never spent more than a few bucks for tickets and food. I love reliving those good old days before baseball died (in 1994).

    MLB can suck rocks.

    1) Brauerei Früh Kölsch (4.8%): An German Kölsch with flavors of fruity yeast, pale bread malts. Smooth and full-bodied.
    versus
    2) Reissdorf Kölsch (4.8%): A German Kölsch that has flavors of earthy, grassy yeast, dry soda bread and metallic notes. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    1) Brauerei Früh Kölsch:
A German Kölsch battle. Two authentic ones. One in a can, one in a bottle. Reissdorf is alright. Has a familiar metallic and soda bread flavor that I've gotten before with it. Not as fruity as I'd hoped. Früh was far better. More fruity, yeasty, and smooth bread malts. More flavorful and dynamic all around. Not sure how to interpret the dates on either, but Fruh was 179 2022 and has a date of 6/23/2023 assuming that's 179th day of 2022 with a best buy date of 6/23/2023. Reissdorf is R32333D. No idea what that means. Assume both were probably similar in age. Maybe the can and bottle were the difference. In general I have noticed that German beer imports seem to weather the trek across the pond and age far better from a can than a bottle.

The other of the "untried by me" beers from the Sweetwater IPA mixed 12 pack. This one is a little better IMHO.

    1) Phase 3 DDH Double Pixel Density (8.0% canned 4/14/23): A NEIPA from Chicago with DDH Citra cryo for flavors of orange, tangerine, blood orange flesh. Smooth and leans dry.
    versus
    2) Phase 3 DDH Doggone Delish (7.8% canned 2/15/23): A NEIPA from Chicago with DDH Nelson for flavors of lemon citrus, white grape & peach, light apple and pear. Juicy. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    2) Phase 3 DDH Doggone Delish:
A Phase 3 NEIPA battle. Had Double Pixel Density many times which is excellent. Oranges and tangerine flesh describe this one. Incredibly smooth and drinkable without being sweet. Top notch haze. First try at Doggone Delish which was a bit older. Should have expected nothing less. Phase 3 IPA quality plus Nelson. What more could you want. The name says it all, and exactly what I'm thinking. Perfect beer
