I was thinking the other day that I haven't seen any of your cookie posts in a long time. You go on a diet?

Not sure if it is wise to drink this now. But I am a curious weak hearted person that cannot resist tempation.

Hi ho BAs! Kind of a gloomy, overcast Monday here in North GA. My first beer from St. Arnold Brewing, Oktoberfest, courtesy of @DavyJonesXXX. A nicely done beer. It leans sweet with a little more caramel note than some but has some notable bitterness for balance. Expected spicy hops. Went down nicely. Prost!

    1) Sam Adams Winter Lager (5.6%): A Bock from Boston with flavors of rich bread, cinnamon spices, yeast and caramel. Spiced, carbonated, and clean.
    versus
    2) Alaskan Winter Ale (6.4%): An Old Ale from Alaska with flavors of rich bread, caramel, chocolate, with a light spruce tip bite. Smooth.

    Winner:
    2) Alaskan Winter Ale:
Christmas/Winter Beer Battle. First from Boston, Sam Adams Winter Ale. This one is always pretty good. Not quite as dynamic as their Oktoberfest or Boston Lager though in my opinion. This one is slightly more malty and smooth. Enjoyable and drinkable for sure.
Next from far out West, Alaskan Winter Ale. Alaskan brewing always knows how make cold-weather beers. Slightly higher ABV also the addition of spruce tips get it a slight bite. Holiday beers aren't always my favorite style, but these are both enjoyable.

Chilly, gloomy day today. Grocery shopping done, did some leaf patrol, and was able to get a walk in besides. My last Old Fezziwig. Cheers!

Another from Saint Arnold Brewing. Guten Tag (5.8% ABV). Interesting they made two slightly different versions of Marzen. I think I like this one slightly better. It's more toasty & robust. Head retention was shorter on this one. Finishes dry. Well crafted brew. Thanks @DavyJonesXXX!
