What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #4101

Dimension Door NEIPA at the source. Poured on draft into a 13 oz Snulip glass not sure how long ago it was brewed. Pours a very attractive hazy yellow with a half finger sticky white head that leaves thick streaks of lace, with solid retention. 4.5

Aroma is peach, papaya, passionfruit, mandarin, mango, and apricot. 4.25

Taste follows peach, papaya, passionfruit, mandarin, mango, and apricot. 4.25

Mouthfeel is above medium, soft gentle carbonation, not sticky or dry, and at 7.6% it goes down very easy with plenty of balanced flavor. 4.5

Overall this is one of, if not the best I have ever had from this brewery. They make killer pizza and I was just picking up dinner for the family. 4.25 Cheers to Friday friends!

It's a heat wave out there, and is now up to 8 (-13C). I do need some more warming up, and damn, I forgot how good this was from when I last had it.


This also is helping warm this old man up.

 

Apparently 24 hours means open at noon, so audibled to Able Baker, where I always start with this pour.

Mouthfeel is rather big, soft gentle carbonation, not stick or dry, and at 8% it drinks a little bigger, but still very approachable. 4.75

Overall this for me is the best I have ever had from them and is very good and worth a try if you see it. 4.5

 

School was canceled for the kids due to the blizzard and I had the liberty of a short work day today, so time to kick off the holiday weekend and enjoy some brews!

Friday greetings BAs! I hope everyone has had a great week. This a nice Saison from a small brewery near me - NoFo Brew Co. They make it the way I like them - soft malt backbone, spicy/herbal hops and none of the big funk.

Apres Vous checking in at 7.7% ABV.

 

Just signed off of work and was pleasantly surprised that we have Monday off - I forgot all about that!

I earned this beer today - Belleflower The Fool East Coast Style IPA. It came in a 4 pack of 2 West Coast style and 2 East Coast style - personally, I would have preferred all West Coast style but this is pretty good for a NEIPA.

 

It looks like it's going to top out here at 10 (-12C). At least we haven't gotten any snow yet.

This tasted way better on tap at the brewery than in a can. Oh, well, I think it's my last.

 

Went back to Hard Hat Lounge. The gaming and 24 hour video poker starts soon. They explained the porch window policy at Able Baker, and it somewhat makes sense, so I’ll stop bitching about it.

1) Phase Three Three Juiced (8.0% canned 12/5/23): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra, El Dorado, and Galaxy with flavors of orange, tangerine, some peach and melon. Earthy pineapple and pine off the end. Mild bitterness.
versus
2) Drekker Goon Platoon (8.0% canned 1/2/24): A NEIPA from North Dakota with Citra, Belma, and NZH-107 for flavors of kiwi, guava, strawberry candy. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner:
2) Drekker Goon Platoon: NEIPA Battle. First up is Phase Three Juiced. Standard hop combination. A bit earthy and dankness to it with a mild bitterness. It's good, but nothing special.
Next is Drekker Goon Platoon. The first beer I'm having from 2024. Interesting hop combo in the addition of Belma and NZH-107. The Belma provides a strawberry/kiwi flavor and the NZH-107 gives it a guava rind. Mildly sweet and great flavors and smooth drinkability. Digging this one.
