    Not because I want to get the taste of my last stout outta my mouth (but kinda), dipping into my stash of stouts I love - Deth’s Tar by Revolution:

    Canned 10/04/23. Poured at 56°. Boozy bourbon and chocolate fudge delish. The 14.8% abv is well masked, but the face flushing warmth is undeniable. Cheers y’all!

    Beautiful dark brown hue, clear; no carbonation or head. Wondrous aroma; dark, roasted malts, baker's chocolate; raisins and dates; tobacco; hint of cherry and blackberry brandy; light alcohol smell. Dark, rich sweetness entwined with a fine boozy flavor; spicy; star anise; maraschino cherries; chewing tobacco. Heavy body; chewy and vinous; bold undercurrent of alcohol warmth courses through the sip.

    This is a fantastic still beer. It opens with complexity and depth and builds upon it with every sip. Heady and alluring.

    Happy Saturday, gang. It’s a fun beer day as I’m celebrating Untied Brewing’s 5th Anniversary. This year’s annual DIPA release, 5th Trip Around the Sun, is based on the recipes of Rays of Haze and File This, but it’s bigger and danker. Right in my wheelhouse. Will review on NBW. Cheers!
