    1) Hop Butcher Mirror Ball (7.5% canned 1/2/24): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra, Mosaic, and Centennial for flavors of orange, sweet berries, grapes, and hints of pine. Smooth and sweet.
    versus
    2) Hop Butcher Blazed Green Relish (8.0% canned 2/6/24): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra, Strata, and Sabro for flavors of fresh orange, green papaya, and zesty citrus. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    1) Mirror Ball:
Happy Friday BeerAdvocates. Time to kick off the weekend with a Hop Butcher battle. First is Mirror Ball. Hitting that 3 month mark so getting a little resinous, but the flavors are still complex and fantastic. Sweet berries, grapes, sweet pine and resin.
Next is Blazed Green Relish. Showing the Sabro well. Pineapple, coconut, and green citrus/guava notes. Today I think Blazed Green Relish has more tone, but when Mirror Ball was fresh I think it was a superior IPA.

Another work week done and I’m celebrating at Autodidact with a pour of Sunster! It’s Auto’s take on Oakflower Brewing’s highly-rated Sunstar. It is can-worthy and deserves the full NBW treatment. Cheers to the weekend, BAs!

Yup, they are definitely excellent smoked wings. I used to go to Fat Head’s in Pittsburgh when my buddy lived on the south side. They had good wings then too, but it would be another ten or so years until they started brewing beer here.

...there's a lot of good and bad about today...good: myself, Mrs BeerGoot and Oscar are generally okay...the bad: I have a bad 'original equipment knee' - possible torn medial meniscus and/or bursitus, Oscar (aka 'Thundering Rodent') still has bleeding ear tip issues...and Mrs. BeerGoot is arguably as cranky and ornery as I am (on a daily basis)...all that said, the smoking session has been good, we're having good communication with our vet, supper should be sublime this evening - smoked rib eye said someone, and, well, despite my orneriness, I can still be an optimist (despite my best attempts at dispelling that profile)...crazy...?!?...just call me a pseudo - @LesDewitt4beer (without the musical chops)...

From a 16oz can purchased at the brewery. Canned Feb 24'.

Clear golden pouring beer with a 1 finger white head. Decent head retention, but no lacing on the glass.
Malty cereal aroma. Lots of grain. Hint of honey like sweetness.
Taste - This is a grain filled beer. Lots of creral and buttery biscuit. Nice hint of sweetness. Hint of lime in this beer that assd another element to this beer.
    Crisp, clean clear body.
This beer is a very tasty and easy drinking beer overall.

The Lovely and Bride I took a drive to Kenosha today, had a beer and lunch at Rustic Roads, I thought the Belgian TripeI I had was very good.

We arrived at 1:20 and we ordered the Walleye for lunch, the beer tenderess informed me they don't serve the Walleye until 2:00. So we waited, as I left the urinalitorium I noticed the time, the late, great Jimmy Buffet was right, it's always 5 o'clock somewhere, but it was too late to point it out the beer tenderess.

Real Ale Brewhouse Brown Ale, classic and one of my favorite Texas beers...if I find it fresh. Well, this is very fresh. They are doing their 28th anniversary stuff, and think they pushed a bunch of fresh old school beers our everywhere. Which I hope to see more of.

Charles Lloyd spinning, is excellent new album, The Sky Will Still Be there Tomorrow.

Sorry to hear about knee. Hopefully, maybe ice, Advil, and some rest will resolve the problem.

Hop Butcher Grid (5.75% canned 12/23/23):
A Pale Ale from Chicago with Citra and Mosaic for flavors of tropical berries, orange, resinous pine and stonefruit.

Another Hop Butcher here. A Pale Ale this time. Fading at bit as I didn't realize it was this old or I would have reviewed it sooner. Standard Citra and Mosaic. Some tea, berries, and resinous pine and stonefruit. Fairly clean, but the flavors sort of fade out off the end. I'ts not my favorite beer from them, but I should have tried it more fresh.

It is pretty wild that some people up north have never been down to The Cities. I have been up there and it is a different kind of culture. Very beautiful area as well.

...so far, no...been going on for over six weeks...doing your suggestions and no improvement...perhaps it's just me, but I would think some imagery tests (based on my initial complaints of pain and problems walking - in my opinion) might be appropriate at this point (as I don't have a minor complaint)...why not examine the root cause and then proceed with the rehab / recovery based on that...but what do I know...okay, bean counters...

Oh man. This is a quaffable brew. 4 Hands/Surly Voltron V4 HIPA. If mods need another pic of it for the site (check these out) I can supply it as there are 3 sides to this can all with cumulative info. No worries! Sorry @LarryV this might not be your ticket as it proudly wears orange zest, but it is rather light-bodied and has a fast dry finish so all that citrus doesn't lie around like an alligator in the sun. Anyways, I like it a lot! It's almost session-like even at 6.5%. I'm feelin' some good love from BA today folks. Mega Voltron Cheers! XXOO
