Just pretend you are retired this weekend, David! Hope you have a good one!
Me, just finding forgotten beer fridge brews in my retirement, this one being a nice dark lager from Highland in Asheville. Listening to a favorite Gabriel tune, the video is clever.

It is kind of poetic, but my best guess is that she does not mind getting old with her lover if he wants. "If you love me tomorrow" is the theme. And "if you want" is the last sentence.

 

I do most weekends. Then reality smacks me in the face on Monday.

 

This right here is one of my favorite Good Word Beers - Riding Bikes in Munich Helles style 4.7%. Canned last week. A beaut.

Stretching my doctor-mandated alcohol limit a bit this week but I've got way too many beers in the fridge and needs must. Sure is a nice way to end the work week.

 

CT lobster roll and a Vienna Lager.

 

Oh wow have fun. That sounds like a great time!

 

1) Perennial Pilsner (5.0%): A German Pils from Missouri with flavors of lemon citrus, lemonflower, pale malts. Mildly sweet.
versus
2) Surly Hell Lager (5.0%): A German lager from Minnesota that has flavors of lemonflower with a dry, yeast,y and pale malt finish. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner:
2) Surly Hell Lager. German Lager Battle. First is Perennial. A good one with some hoppy and sweet lemon notes. I enjoy it a lot more than I did the last time I had it in 2022.
Next is Surly Hell Lager. Actually quite similar pour, aroma, and flavor. A bit more yeasty, floral and dry. A more full and soft mouthfeel. This is always a good lager to ocme back to. Not easy to find unless you're local, but this is one of the best lagers out of Minnesota in my opinion.

 

Drinking a solid NEW West Coast Style IPA...
