Round two from Arbeiter. Tasty beer on a sunny day. Spring cleaning is at hand. Cheers!

Two different beers indeed. The Urquell goes for the Saaz showcase, while the Budvar lets the triple-decocted malt mash shine.

I say, Yum!! equally it appears haha! Cheers!

The flavor and contrast more so like 50/50 Eclipse for me, but now that you mention it, lot's of Hopslam vibes as well, at least from what I recall from a few years ago.

    https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/287/17112/?ba=ChicagoJ#review

Would say Hopslam comes off much more sweeter to me, whereas Emerald Grouper is coming off more balanced and in tune with my palate preferences. Definitely worth checking out a single or draft pour to see how you may like/love it.

    Cheers!

    1) Hop Butcher Presto Change-O (7.5% canned 2/7/24): A NEIPA from Chicago with Mosaic and Simcoe for flavors of mixed berries, juicy pineapple, and sweet pine
    versus
    2) Hop Butcher Lord Octopus (7.5% canned 1/30/24): A NEIPA from Chicago with Mosaic for flavors of tropical berries, blueberries, cotton candy, light grassy, floral tones. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    2) Lord Octopus
:Happy Sunday and time for Hop Butcher IPA Battle. First is Presto- Change-O. Been trying this a lot recently. Simcoe and Mosaic combine. It has all that tropical notes with some hints of the west-coast resinous flavor from the Simcoe. Pretty good overall.
Next is Lord Octopus. All Mosaic. This one comes with tons of tropical Mosaic character. Rich blueberries, tropical orange, melon, grape, and sweet pine.
Presto was average, but Lord Octopus is quite exellent. I don't know any brewery that can put together Mosaic flavors like Hop Butcher. I think nearly all of my favorites from them involve Mosaic somehow. The can art, the name, the flavors. This is excellent.

I spent the morning completing chapter 11 operating reports, which is every bit as exciting as it sounds. Now it's time for beer and baseball.

    Parish Brewing Pilsner

Light gold color with white cap and lacing.

Aroma of some sweet malt and floral, spicy hops.

Taste on entry is less malty than I'd hoped with a greater emphasis on the hops. Rather simple flavors that are working well together producing a clean taste of malt and hops that are rather middle of the pack at best. Noticeably better than our usual Southern AAL thirst quenchers it still lacks the presence to rise very far above those. It does drink and finish dry, which is a plus.

    Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

A clean, competent brew but this is a black and white copy of a colorful Pilsner.

Switching gears here with Pryes Gold Golden Ale. Kinda a bubbly light common with yeasty notes, malts and a quaffable feel. Heyooooo! Taking mini breaks and thumbing thru some old mags from 1967 to about '85.
