Drinking a gross macro today, but only because it made me think of Steely Dan. Honestly, not terrible, especially in the sweltering heat, but I'll probably never drink it again. I found it in a gas station in the middle of nowhere and got some funny looks buying it - I guess it's not a manly beer. Infusions of lime and prickly pear... Could be a good shampoo.

The beer garden is looking good! Minus the temperature. I bet it's like an oven out there like it's been here in Philly? Another reason to down a frosty one.

 

2024 Grand Negro Voodoo Papi (bourbon)

 

Keeping with a vinous theme: 2019 Napa Parabola. Aroma is a fruity must vibe. Flavor is more barrel forward, by a lot. The red wine is still there but less vinous and more…velvet…if that were a flavor. Five-ish years on this is interesting, though still odd.

 

Tell me it’s bad. . I almost bought some, but that drive to Erie is getting so old.

 

Haha it’s def NOT bad lol. I’m not a huge “Mexican” stout fan with the chilis and cinnamon but this is pretty well balanced. Only knock is it’s a bit thin, but overall, solid stout
